Ziggy Ansah is back at practice for the Detroit Lions.
The rookie defensive end was on the field for the portion of Thursday's practice that was open to the media, according to Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official website.
Ansah had been sidelined from team drills for 11 days. He exited an Aug. 25 practice after sustaining a hit to the head in a non-padded session. The team revealed Ansah was dealing with a concussion in Wednesday's injury report.
Ansah -- the fifth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft -- ran with trainers off to the side during Wednesday's practice. His increased participation Thursday is a very good sign he'll be on the field when the Lionsopen the season against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
