![They said he was too small when he entered the NFL in 1990, but Emmitt Smith proved his naysayers wrong. And by the time his career was over, the three-time Super Bowl winner with the Cowboys -- MVP of Super Bowl XXVIII -- stood alone as the all-time leading rusher with 18,355 yards, surpassing his childhood hero Walter Payton. ![Nowadays, fans know Dick LeBeau as an innovative defensive coach responsible for creating the "zone blitz." Before that, though, LeBeau had a Hall of Fame 14-year NFL career as a defensive back with the Detroit Lions from 1959-72, recording 62 interceptions (seventh all-time) and starting in 171 consecutive games. ![Known in Denver simply as "The Franchise," Floyd Little became the first Broncos running back to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark when he led the NFL in rushing with 1,133 yards in 1971. Prior to the merge, Little was a two-time AFL All-Star in 1968-69 before going on to make three Pro Bowls during his nine-year professional career. ![Rickey Jackson provided constant pressure on opposing quarterbacks during his 15-year career, compiling 128 sacks, which ranks 10th all-time. Jackson's best years came with the New Orleans Saints, where he spent 13 seasons, but he won a championship ring with the 49ers in Super Bowl XXIX one year before retiring in 1995. ![Russ Grimm was a mauler as a guard for the Washington Redskins in the 1980s, and he's got the accolades to prove it: four-time Pro Bowl selection, three-time All-Pro and a member of the NFL 1980s All-Decade team, chosen by the voters of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Grimm was an integral part to Washington's three Super Bowl titles during his career. ![A boisterous trash-talker known for his eccentric face painting, John Randle was a character the NFL won't soon forget. But that's not all the Vikings' defensive tackle will be remembered for, as the seven-time All-Pro finished his 14-year career with 137.5 sacks (tied for sixth all-time). It's a wonder why Randle went undrafted. (Pro Football Hall of Fame)](https://res.cloudinary.com/nflleague/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/league/kgkfbyxxwyulwmyq9q93.jpg)
