Final year at Alabama: 1955
Starr was a 17th-round draft choice by the Packers in 1956. When Vince Lombardi arrived as coach, he quickly inserted Starr as starter. With Starr under center, the Packers won five championships in seven years, including the first two Super Bowls with Starr earning game MVP honors each time.

Final year at Alabama: 1999
Alexander played nine seasons in the NFL, eight for the Seattle Seahawks and another for the Washington Redskins. His best year was 2005, when he won the league's MVP award, led the league in rushing and helped the Seahawks reach the only Super Bowl in franchise history.

Final year at Alabama: 1979
Stephenson earned All-Pro honors in five consecutive seasons. Unfortunately, a knee injury cut his career short prematurely. Still, Stephenson was a part of two Miami Dolphins teams that reached the Super Bowl, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.

Final year at Alabama: 1988
Thomas was arguably the game's most feared pass rusher during his time with the Chiefs. On one autumn Sunday afternoon in 1990, Thomas made life absolutely miserable for Seahawks QB Dave Krieg, setting an NFL record with seven sacks.

Final year at Alabama: 1977
Newsome -- still considered one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history -- retired as the NFL's all-time leader for tight ends in receptions, yards and touchdowns.

Final year at Alabama: 1967
Stabler was the signal-caller for the infamous Raiders of the 1970s, a motley bunch that also happened to excel on the gridiron. Stabler guided the Silver and Black to their first Super Bowl triumph.

Long before the forward pass became vogue in the NFL, Hutson set receiving records that took decades to fall. However, there is still one pass-catching record that he holds that might never be toppled.

Namath became the first professional quarterback to throw for more than 4,000 yards in a season, then he went ahead and made a certain guarantee leading up to Super Bowl III and sparked one of the greatest upsets in NFL history.

Bennett played 14 years in the NFL, but made his most indelible mark as a member of the Buffalo Bills. Bennett was a part of the Bills' amazing run to four consecutive Super Bowls from 1990 through 1993.

Hannah, dubbed "the best offensive lineman of all time" by Sports Illustrated, played 13 years in the NFL, all for the New England Patriots. Hannah's final season was marked by the first Super Bowl appearance for New England.
