Vince Lombardi (June 11, 1913 – September 3, 1970) was a football player, coach and executive in the National Football League. He is mostly known as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers during the 1959-1967 and led them to win Super Bowl I and II in 1968 and 1967. He died suddenly in 1970 after being diagnosed with cancer. The National Football League named the Super Bowl trophy in his honor and entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971.
