In the span of just a few days, it all fell apart for him. Everything he built: his image, his brand, and his career is all gone after his arrest for allegedly head-butting his wife in their car. The Dolphins mad a fast decision to release him, and now, it's going to be hard to see him resurface anywhere. It was hard enough for him to find a team without this. But when you add his legal situation to the diminishing returns on the field, this is likely the end of his long and winding road through the NFL.

Chad Johnson signed with the Miami Dolphins on June 11, 2012, returning him to the city he was born and raised in, and freeing him from the shackles imposed on him during his year-long stint with the New England Patriots. His signing with the Dolphins came just days after the team announced that they would be the subject of HBO's "Hard Knocks" series during the 2012 training camp, providing the flamboyant receiver with the perfect platform to relaunch himself to the world. What could possibly go wrong...?

In 2005, Ochocinco announced he would keep a list of who covered him well during the season. I remember this because he had such high praise for Leigh Bodden (who he called Lehigh Bodden, but hey, as long as they're talking about you that's the main thing). That praise was so great you would have thought Bodden was Darrelle Revis and Nnamdi Asomugha put together. It's too bad he didn't do this list in 2011 because it would have been really long.

During a 2009 preseason game, he kicked due to an injury to Shayne Graham. He kicked off and made an extra point, which turned out to be the margin of victory in a 7-6 Cincinnati triumph over New England. Maybe this is what Bill Belichick was hoping for when he signed him. In fact, without looking at stats, if he kicked just one extra point for the Patriots last season it would have been more points than he tallied as a wideout. Too soon?

While the NFL was busy with the lockout last summer, Ochocinco took part in a four-day tryout with Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer. (Seriously, what kind of name is that? It sounds like a Missouri outdoor magazine.) He was a star soccer player as a youth, but never made it past the reserve team and was not offered a contract.

Remember when he debuted the Ochocinco News Network on Twitter, which was supposed to be a big source of NFL news? Sort of like when CNN was announced, but not really. Eventually someone's going to seize that idea and band together with the right people to create a niche of news for a specific outlet, and then you'll see copycat after copycat.

This was Ochocinco's first foray into reality television. I enjoyed "The T.Ocho Show" because you knew he and Terrell Owens were always going to say something newsworthy. When I had my nightly radio show, I always had to make sure we recorded it so we could play whatever outlandish thing was said. I never got into "Mad Men" but I made sure we had "The T.Ocho Show"! (And honestly, "The T.Ocho Show" was more exciting than what I saw of "Mad Men." My goodness that show is boring.)

Of all the end zone stunts he pulled off during his career, my favorite was when he put on that ugly, yellow Pro Football Hall of Fame-style jacket after scoring a TD on "Monday Night Football" during Week 1 of the 2007 season. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into that, even though it took awhile to realize what "Future H.o.F 20??" meant. First time I looked at it, I swear I was trying to figure out if it was something that had to do with the periodic table of elements. Just what is that? Is it hydrogen, oxygen and a Fahrenheit temp -- oh wait, I'm an idiot.

I thought he was going to win ... he had Cheryl Burke as his partner! That's like having Tom Brady throw you passes (oh, wait ...). He made it down to the final four, but eventually didn't get enough love from the public. Maybe that's why he wanted to do "Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch."

There's plenty of non-fooball people who can say, "yeah, Ochocinco asked me to come out tonight" and they're telling the truth. In 2009, he invited Bengals fans to the movies or to dinner using his Twitter account. He wanted to make it up to the fans for the poor 2008 season he had, and he paid for all of his various guests at the different venues. I don't know what flicks he shelled out for, but some of the films that came out in 2009 included "Land of the Lost," "A Town Called Panic" and "How Did We Lose to the Jets Twice In a Row After We Won the AFC North?"

In June of 2007, Ochocinco raced a thoroughbred horse named GetevenwithVonOelhoffen (Note: That is not the correct name of the horse). We've seen the man-versus-horse races before, but I can't remember anyone actually beating the horse like Ochocinco did. True, he was given a 110-yard head start, but never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

There's headline grabbing, and then there's "I'm going to change my name because, well, why not?" I thought I'd never get used to calling him Ochocinco, now I can't ever think of going back to saying "Chad Johnson." Although I never got past the fact that if he wanted to be eighty-five, that's actually ochenta y cinco. Ochocinco is just eight-five. I'm glad someone pointed that out on his Wikipedia page. I only say this because my middle school Spanish teacher Mrs. Feurestein would get on a plane to come find me if I didn't point that out. I used to be really good in Spanish, even though all I mostly remember now is "Me llamo Jason" and "Arriba" because that's what Tito Santana would always say after a WWF match.
