College Rivalries: Texas vs Oklahoma
Oklahoma and Texas have one of the most storied rivalries in college football, but who has the edge when it spills over to the NFL? Here is a look at some of the best players from Oklahoma and Texas, and you can be the judge.

Peterson took the NFL by storm as he challenged Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing mark for rookies and didn't slow down until an MCL and ACL tear ended his 2011 season. Even then, he still rushed for 970 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 12 games.

Before there was Barry Sanders, the Lions had another prominent running back who wore No. 20 in Sims (and then there are more old-school people who might remember Lem Barney, who also wore No. 20 for Detroit). But Sims was one of the most underrated running backs in NFL history, as he rushed for 5,106 yards and 42 touchdowns in his all-too-brief NFL career from 1980-84, which ended because of a damaging knee injury.

Oklahoma has produced some high-profile receivers, but McDonald had the most success in the NFL -- most notably as a member of the Eagles and the Los Angeles Rams. McDonald ranked sixth all-time in receptions, fourth in yards receiving and second in touchdown catches at the time of his retirement. And he also had the greatest Hall of Fame induction speech of all-time.

Selmon was the first overall pick in Buccaneers club history. Selmon, who won the Lombardi and Outland Trophies in college, was a key member of the Buccaneers' early success, which included two NFC Central Division titles in the club's first six years and also an appearance in the 1979 NFC Championship Game.

Casillas was the second-overall selection of the 1986 NFL Draft and was one of the most consistent linemen in the NFL during his playing career. Casillas would find his biggest success as a member of the Cowboys from 1991-93, where he was a member of the Cowboys' back-to-back championship teams.

Brown was selected with the 13th overall pick of the 2005 NFL Draft. He was a two-time Pro Bowl player with the Redskins and the Saints. Brown was a key member of the Saints team that won Super Bowl XLIV.

Williams had an enigmatic NFL career after the Saints traded all of their draft picks to acquire him in 1999, but he still managed to top 10,000 rushing yards and 66 rushing touchdowns for his career with stops in New Orleans, Miami and Baltimore.

Charles is one of the bright young running backs in the NFL, and he was coming off a Pro Bowl season when his 2011 was cut short by a knee injury. Charles has averaged more than six yards per carry during his NFL career.

Layne was a free-spirited quarterback who was easily the most successful signal caller in Lions history, as he led the team to three NFL titles during his career. Layne might not have been the most proficient quarterback in NFL history, but he made up for it with guile and the will to win. Layne was said to have never lost a game, though he might have been behind sometimes when time ran out.

The Tyler Rose was the first overall pick of the 1978 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers, and became one of the most bruising running backs in NFL history. Campbell was a five-time Pro Bowl runner and he led the NFL in rushing in three consecutive seasons from 1978-1980. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1991.

"Big Snack" was a first-round draft pick of the Steelers in 2001 and has had a pretty impressive career with the Steelers, as a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion.

Pruitt was a five-time Pro Bowl running back for the Browns and the Raiders -- and he was a member of the Raiders' Super Bowl XVIII-winning team. Pruitt even had his own rule named after him as the NFL banned "tear-away" jerseys during his playing career. Pruitt also won ABC's "Superstars" competition in 1979, which is kind of cool.

Finley is one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the NFL, and one of the rising stars in the league at his position. Finley had his best season in 2011 when he had 55 receptions for 767 yards and eight touchdowns.

Landry is best known as the long-time coach of the Cowboys, but he did play in the NFL as a member of the New York Giants and he did earn a Pro Bowl nomination in 1954.

Nobis was the first-ever draft pick of the Atlanta Falcons. Nobis also was a top selection of the Houston Oilers of the rival AFL, and astronaut Frank Borman sent a message from space for Nobis to sign with the Oilers. But the Falcons won out, and Nobis went on to be a five-time Pro Bowler for Atlanta.
