Winston might be the most disliked college player in the nation, and he could end up joining a list of some of the most disliked college players in history: He certainly seems to be moving quickly up the charts. As with most of the guys on our list, he is extremely talented on the field. But off the field? That's a different story. His immaturity and "Look at me! Look at me!" way of doing things have a lot of people gritting their teeth and shaking their heads in disgust.

The dude rented a white stretch limousine to drive him to the College Football Hall of Fame to make an announcement as to where he would attend college. Yeah, that went over well with most fans, and those fans took enjoyment in seeing him play a lot of mediocre football throughout his college career.

Ahhh, Chris Simms, AKA "the quarterback born with the silver spoon in his mouth." He never lived up to the hype at Texas, though he certainly was given every opportunity to do so by then-Longhorns coach Mack Brown. He was just a little too plastic for a lot of fans. (Oklahoma fans sure loved him, though.)

What, you thought we weren't going to have a player from "The U" on here? It was easy to dislike him, especially after his ludicrous "I'm a soldier!" rant following a loss to Tennessee in 2003. (A college football player comparing a college football game to "war" and saying, "They're out there to kill you, so I'm out there to kill them" -- yeah, OK, Junior.)

Here's another guy who was ahead of his time. "Neon Deion" antagonized folks before the 24-7 news cycle. He was a tremendous player -- one of the best corners in college history. That he took seemingly every opportunity to let people know how good he was is what ticked off a lot of folks.

He certainly seemed to love being the center of attention. His long, drawn-out recruitment antagonized a lot of people. He antagonized a lot more with his actions at Ohio State - - numerous NCAA violations that played a big role in the eventual "resignation" of coach Jim Tressel.

Believe it or not, at one point he was disliked far more than his brother. Far more. Marcus never was shy about expressing his opinion - - no matter how inane he sounded. And he sure caused a lot of trouble for a guy who had one good college season. He eventually was dismissed from the program for what the school termed "a cumulative effect of legal infractions and unsportsmanlike play."

The most polarizing player on this list, hands down. Millions love the guy; just as many got sick at even a mention of him. He did win a Heisman and two national title rings, though. If there was a list of the most beloved players, Tebow would make that one, too.

If you're an Auburn fan, you absolutely love the guy. If you're not an Auburn fan, you can appreciate his talent but also may have a negative opinion because of the way he was shopped on the recruiting trail and his ever-present smirk (that smirk is seen as a "smile" by Auburn fans, but trying to convince others is a tough sell). And if you're an Alabama fan � we're probably better off not even mentioning him in your presence.

Johnny Football provided a lot of enjoyment to a lot of people - - but for different reasons. He was a great story while winning the Heisman as a redshirt freshman in 2012. But his off-field antics and seeming need to remain in the public eye turned off folks during 2013, and his and A&M's on-field struggles that season brought smiles to a lot of faces.

On the field, he was the key player on the Buckeyes' team that won the national title. It's the off-field stuff that caused a lot of angst, to Buckeyes fans and non-Buckeyes fans. He yelled at assistants, railed at school officials for real and perceived slights, lied to school officials got into legal trouble - - he eventually was booted from school, then tried unsuccessfully to enter the NFL draft early.

"The Boz" was a polarizing figure, for sure. He courted attention and ticked people off by doing so. The do-rag, the Mohawk, the positive steroid test. The list is endless. But he was ahead of his time in his very public criticism of the NCAA (as he called it, the National Communists Against Athletes).
