Draft Day 1: The Unexpected (And Expected)
The first day of the 2012 NFL Draft brought some unexpected sights and sounds, and we can't wait to see even more in Day 2. But before we do that, let's take a look back at the weird, the wild and the unexplainable from the first day.

Daniel Radcliffe showed up on Thursday night, though you might not have recognized him without his glasses. Known for his role as Harry Potter, Radcliffe is a professed Giants fan who no doubt had to be thrilled with his team's selection of RB David Wilson.

Trent Richardson celebrated his selection by the Browns with his two daughters, who were in tow as Cleveland's new star met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The adorable duo nearly stole the show.

The newest Chargers player, LB Melvin Ingram, wasn't content with the typical bro hug from the commissioner, so he stepped up his game with a non-traditional handshake. And, yes, they planned it ahead of time, though Ingram took 99 percent of the credit.

The Colts wasted no time in handing over No. 12 to Andrew Luck, especially when you consider Quan Cosby was assigned to the jersey last year. We're guessing the Colts didn't have to do much convincing for Cosby to surrender the number -- especially if he wants to be catching passes from Luck next season.

Weeden joined his receiver Justin Blackmon as first-round draft picks, but they were only the second quarterback-receiver tandem to go in the draft as RG3 and his top receiver Kendall Wright were also first-round picks.

In a mild surprise of the evening, the Browns took QB Brandon Weeden with the 22nd overall pick. The surprise wasn't the Browns taking a quarterback, considering the team had coveted him. Rather it was that Weeden was still up way past his bed time, for a man of his considerable age.

It's one thing for the Colts and Redskins to have a name already on the jersey. Or, even the Browns and Richardson. So it didn't take long to notice all of the rookies that already had their name emblazoned on their new team jerseys. It wasn't the work of psychic powers, but rather a hot press right there at Radio City Music Hall.

There were a lot of sharp dressed men who graced the stage on Thursday night, but we're going to give a special nod to RG3 and his inspirational socks, which read "Go catch your dream."

Fans might have noticed that the crowd chanted "What?" right as the commissioner was going to announce the name of the next draftee. The practice is taken from WWE shows where the crowd chanted "What?" during Stone Cold Steve Austin's promos. And much like it happened in the WWE, it was cool the first couple of times but soon became tiresome. Actually, it was still kind of funny at the end because of the befuddled looks of onlookers who had no idea what was going on.

Cowboys fans were shocked and delighted when Morris Claiborne was selected by the team. They had nothing on Claiborne himself, who never talked to the Cowboys until they selected him. Claiborne actually thought it was a crank caller when it all went down.
