Fantasy best fits for 2014
Football fans everywhere want to know if their favorite teams are going to land one of the top free agents this offseason, but what about "fantasy" football fans? Here's a look at where the top free agents would end up if the decisions were based on potential statistical success alone.

The Green Bay Packers are set to make Jarrett Boykin their No. 3 wideout, so Jones will be looking for a new address. The Jets will be tied to just about every receiver on the market, but Jones would be a nice fantasy option with the San Diego Chargers. The team has a solid quarterback in Philip Rivers, and Keenan Allen is the lone reliable receiver on the team's roster.

Sanders is a virtual lock to move on from Pittsburgh, where he posted career bests in receptions, yardage and touchdowns last season. The Patriots, who signed him to an offer sheet in 2013, could once again go after Sanders. He would be a better fantasy fit as a member of the Jets, though, where he would become the No. 1 option.

McFadden might be a candidate to rejoin OC Hue Jackson in Cincinnati, but he wouldn't see a featured role with Giovani Bernard in the backfield. His bet for a surge in fantasy value might be in Miami, where McFadden would start ahead of Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas. Of course, he still comes with a whole lot of risk when you consider how injury-prone McFadden has been as a pro.

Nicks needs a change of scenery, and I like him with the Carolina Panthers. Remember, GM Dave Gettleman was in the Giants' front office when the team drafted Nicks out of North Carolina. Steve Smith is showing signs of statistical decline at 34, so Nicks would have a shot to emerge as the team's top option. This move just makes sense.

Jones-Drew would hold the most fantasy value if he remains with the Jacksonville Jaguars, simply because there is no current competition for him as the No. 1 runner. The team appears more likely to let him leave, though, making Pocket Hercules an option for the Giants or Dolphins. He could also end up in Oakland if the Raiders pass on keeping Jennings and McFadden, but that's much more of an outlier.

He's not the flashiest running back in the NFL, but I like Jennings a lot heading into next season -- as long as he remains with the Oakland Raiders. He was a nice fit for their offense in the absence of Darren McFadden last season, and Run DMC seems unlikely to be back in Silver and Black. Jennings is entering his age-29 season, but has very little wear-and-tear on his body. He's a player to watch in free agency.

Edelman posted a breakout campaign in 2013 with 105 receptions, 1,056 yards and six touchdowns -- that's what a player should do in a contract year! He would be wise to re-sign with the New England Patriots, as Edelman has a great rapport with Tom Brady and is a huge favorite of offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Also keep in mind that Danny Amendola, who has been the subject of trade rumors, was again unable to avoid injuries last season.

Tate will leave the shadow of Arian Foster and is likely to land a starting gig somewhere this offseason. I liked him going to Cleveland, but that was before the team parted ways with GM Michael Lombardi. Tate would also be a nice fantasy fit with the Miami Dolphins, who could use some backfield help in 2014.

Much like Moreno, Decker's best fantasy fit is with the Broncos. The problem is that Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas are both entering contract years, so the team isn't likely to retain Decker. A move away from Peyton Manning is going to hurt Decker's value, but landing with the Indianapolis Colts would soften the blow. Reggie Wayne is coming off an ACL tear, and catching passes from Andrew Luck is a nice scenario.

Moreno's best fantasy fit is in Denver, but all reports suggest he's as good as gone with Montee Ball moving up the Broncos' depth chart. So if there's no room in the Mile High City, how about a move to the city that never sleeps? David Wilson is a question mark coming off spinal fusion surgery, and Andre Brown is a free agent. Moreno could become the Giants' featured back with Wilson a No. 2.
