Going from not playing to playing will do wonders for your fantasy draft value. Now that Cutler is on a roster in Miami and apparently on track to be the Dolphins starter, he'll have some late round appeal in plenty of leagues. Keep in mind that Cutler is 34 years old and coming off shoulder surgery, so you'll have to keep the expectations in check. Maybe the better news is what this potentially means for Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker and Julius Thomas, who shouldn't see a dip in their projections.

Earlier in the week, it was Brandon Bolden atop the team's running back depth chart. A few days later, it was Rex Burkhead. All the while, Mike Gillislee is dealing with a hamstring injury and we still have no real clue what the future holds for Dion Lewis and James White. I know #Belitricks are a big thing but this feels chaotic even for the Patriots. The smart thing is to pump the brakes on this backfield until we get another week or two into the preseason.

I'm trying not to freak out over every camp report that crosses my Twitter timeline and the news that Thomas Rawls looks like the Seahawks' lead running back isn't super revelatory. But it does reinforce the notion that Lacy is going to have to do something pretty extraordinary to see anywhere near the type of workload he had during his prime days with the Packers. C.J. Prosise seems to have locked up the pass-catching running back role and with Rawls shining in camp, it won't leave much on the plate for Lacy this year.

Yes, I'm the same guy who wrote a whole screed about how running backs lining up in the slot is overblown ... but bear with me here. This looks like more of a feature than a but -- meaning that Johnson is probably going to be an actual slot receiver and not a gadget in the Browns offense. The reports that he catches the ball as well as any of the team's receivers might be more of an indictment of the Browns' wideouts. I'm not ready to say that Johnson is going to be a bona fide pass-catching threat but he could actually be one of the guys who breaks the mold.

The latest scuttlebutt from Cincy has Jeremy Hill landing as the team's starter barring injury or major underperformance. Considering the way the last two seasons have gone for Hill, the latter is certainly a possibility. In the short term, it means that Mixon is going to be in more of a timeshare than most of us want. I'm still convinced that he'll earn more opportunity as the season goes on. But for now, draft accordingly.

Let me make myself clear. I'm not suggesting that ASJ is going to be the deep sleeper tight end that will lead you to fantasy glory. I'm not that loopy ... yet. What I am suggesting is that the perennial underperformer's arrow is pointing up after the Jets lost receiver Quincy Enunwa for the season. If you believe in the "someone has to catch the ball" theory of fantasy drafting (you should actually stop that, by the way), then Seferian-Jenkins could pique your interest. But because the Jets are going to be really bad this year ... your interest should remain mostly unpiqued.

Why can't you let us have nice things, Jaguars? Just when we thought it was safe to buy in to Fournette as a workhorse back with solid RB2 potential, the word from Duval County is that Jacksonville will employ a committee approach early in the season. I'm hoping the emphasis is on "early in the season" because we've seen what Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon have to offer. I'd like a third option, please and thank you.

This time last year, I was writing unrequited fantasy football love letters to Tavon Austin. That didn't work out. This year, I'm touting Kupp as the Rams receiver to watch. All of the news out of Rams camp has been positive -- from Sean McVay singing odes to Kupp's maturity (he's 24-years-old) to talk of Kupp and Jared Goff building a strong rapport. There's a good chance that Kupp could lead all rookies in receptions this season.

I'm not sure there's a bigger Hunt fan in the Fantasy Stronghold than yours truly. I haven't been able to get on board with the talk that the rookie will surpass Spencer Ware for the starting job. But as the talk of Hunt impressing in camp gets louder, it's becoming more and more believable that he'll win the No. 2 job in Kansas City with a chance to have a bigger role. If that doesn't get you excited, I don't know what to tell you.

Everything seems to be going the wrong way for Dorsett right now. His quarterback is going through a rehab that doesn't seem to have a projected end date. Meanwhile, Dorsett himself has a hamstring injury that has forced him out of practice all week long. At the same time, Chester Rogers is closing in on Indy's WR3 gig while Kamar Aiken is fighting for more snaps. Are there any Phillip Dorsett truthers left? If so, they should start getting concerned.
