Fantasy Football Stock Watch: Todd Gurley to see more targets?
We've had actual football* played. That means actual fantasy analysis based on actual action acted out by actual players. Huzzah! The Fantasy Stock Watch has been up and running for a while and is currently in midseason form. Let's do this.

After a full summer of wondering if Hyde would keep his starting job -- or even his spot on the 49ers roster -- cooler heads have prevailed and all signs point to the incumbent remaining the incumbent. How Joe Williams fits within Kyle Shanahan's offense remains to be seen but for now, Hyde is in line for the majority of the touches.

Just when you thought it was safe to move Jeffery up your draft boards, the Eagles newest receiver was forced to sit out three straight practices with a shoulder injury. All reports are that it's precautionary and Jeffery should be back to work soon. However, it's a reminder that Jeffery has been an injury risk over the past couple of years and fantasy managers are likely to display hesitance when it comes time to draft him.

Training camp is a time for optimism. It's also a time for disappointment. The latter struck Fuller when he went down with a broken collarbone in practice this week. Early estimates suggest that Fuller could miss anywhere from 2-3 months. The spotlight now turns toward the duo of Braxton Miller and Jaelen Strong, who will battle to take over the vacated snaps for the foreseeable future.

What becomes of Todd Gurley in 2017 has been one of the more intriguing storylines of the offseason. Not that long ago, there was a thought that head coach Sean McVay wanted to potentially use Lance Dunbar as a West Coast version of Chris Thompson. Now McVay is hyped about Gurley's ability as a pass-catcher and wants to work him more into the passing game. The arrow is pointing up -- even if only in theory.

When the Bills drafted Jones after letting Robert Woods go in free agency, the assumption was that the rookie would take over the WR2 job in Buffalo. But Jones has been even more of a pleasant surprise than first expected with his play in training camp. A healthy Sammy Watkins will still lead the team in target share but Jones could see more passes his way than first anticipated.

Pump the brakes on talk of Perine stealing Washington's starting job from Rob Kelley. The reports out of camp are that Kelley is the clear starter in Jay Gruden's backfield. Part of the issue stemmed from Perine's issues with ball security. That doesn't mean he can't eventually work his way into a large workload but for now, it might be better to tamp down some of the excitement.

Fantasy managers and analysts alike have been scratching their heads over how the Saints will use their collection of running backs. But it's encouraging to hear that Ingram is slated to have a significant role in New Orleans' passing game. That would suggest that rookie Alvin Kamara will have to fight to see a decent number of snaps and touches this season. Maybe we're getting some clarity here, after all.

With Alshon Jeffery now in Philadelphia, Meredith steps into a WR1 role with the Bears. That's positive on its own but the more exciting (?) news is that Meredith is apparently building a solid chemistry with quarterback Mike Glennon. I mean ... it's not Earth-shattering but any little bit helps, right?
