Fantasy Franchise Tag lineup: Week 12
My nickname around the NFL Media office is "Franchise" and every week I deliver my "Fantasy Franchise Tag" lineup to help give you that boost of confidence you need to start some players on your fantasy roster you might be wondering about. Be sure to check out my full positional player rankings, and if you're all up on the Twitter, be sure to send me some feedback @MattFranchise.

OK, so Rivers is playing with some second-rate pass catchers at this point. But the guy still hurls the ball like 45 times a game, well 42 to be exact. And because the Chargers are losing most of the time (they've now lost six straight), there's even more of a reason for P-Riv to be throwing. Plus, the Jaguars defense allows a touchdown on 65.6 percent of red zone drives this year, so if San Diego can get inside the 20-yard line, there's probably going to be a touchdown scored ... and it won't be Melvin Gordon punching it in. Catch my drift?

I wrote earlier in the week about Bernard's increased snaps since the Bengals' Week 7 bye and how the additional playing time has helped him be a more efficient fantasy back than Jeremy Hill. Although the Bengals backs face a seemingly difficult matchup against the Rams this week, St. Louis still allows a generous 100-plus rush yards per game. I have Bernard ranked among my top 20 running backs for the week and think that if he can log somewhere around his average of about 14 touches per game, he can be a nice RB2 for fantasy owners for the second straight week.

Remember last week when Thomas Rawls went off for 246 total yards and two touchdowns against the 49ers? How about in Week 9 when Devonta Freeman posted a solid 13 fantasy points against San Francisco? Let's try Week 8 when Todd Gurley racked up 133 rush yards against them. I smell a trend. Running backs put up solid numbers against San Francisco, and if Chris Johnson registers anywhere close to his average of 19 touches per game, fantasy owners can expect the same kind of result.

After a slow start, Cooks went on quite a hot streak. He collected 70-plus receiving yards in five of his last six games and scored five touchdowns in his last three games heading into the Saints' Week 11 bye. His strong production in recent weeks has been enough to rank him as the 10th highest-scoring fantasy receiver for the season at this point. Even with the Texans' defense playing better the last three weeks, there's no reason Cooks can't keep his hot streak going against Houston on Sunday.

With the Giants' defense on pace to allow the most passing yards per game in NFL history, pretty much any wide receiver going up against them is a savvy fantasy play. Through Week 11, New York is allowing 309.9 passing yards per game, and has given up nine touchdowns to the position. Last week, Jackson led Washington's receiving corps with eight targets and straight up burned Carolina safety Colin Jones on his way to a 56-yard touchdown reception. As long as Jackson is healthy, he's a great play in good matchups -- this is one of them.

Martellus Bennett (ribs) has already been ruled out for Chicago's Thanksgiving game against the Packers, so that leaves Miller as the top tight end target for Jay Cutler. We've seen Miller have huge games in the last few weeks, collecting 177 yards and three touchdowns. If you need a tight end streamer, Miller is a great option this week.

Since Steve Smith went down in Week 8, Aiken has been Baltimore's leading wide receiver, logging 123 yards and a touchdown in the last two games. Now, with Matt Schaub under center, the Baltimore passing attack could have a different look, but Aiken is still the top option and should remain a weekly flex play as long as Schaub peppers him with targets. I've got faith that Aiken can keep his fantasy owners afloat with consistent double-digit production against a Browns secondary that has struggled against wide receivers lately.

The Buccaneers' D/ST had its strongest performance of the season in Week 11 against the Eagles and finished as fantasy's second-highest scoring defense with 18 points. Tampa Bay tallied a season-high four takeaways, posted three sacks on Sunday and allowed Philadelphia to score just 17 points against them. Mark Sanchez's poor play as the Eagles' starting quarterback had a lot to do with it. The unit will look to take advantage of Indianapolis' suspect offensive line in Week 12. If they can put pressure on Hasselbeck and force him into some mistakes, it could be another big game for the Bucs' defense.

I'm sticking with Gano after he came through last week with 14.00 fantasy points on the heels of Cam Newton's five-touchdown day. In addition to the Carolina kicker's five extra points, he booted through three field goals, two of which were from the 40- to 49-yard range. He's been a solid fantasy option all season and should continue to be one as long as the Panthers' offense is playing like one of the best in the NFL.
