Fantasy Stock Watch
The calendar might say June, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of fantasy football news to talk about. Mini-camps have opened around the country and we're just a few short weeks away from the start of training camp. That's the perfect time to start taking stock of some of the players who could make or break your fantasy season.

Not that I was buying into the idea that McFadden was a legitimate threat to Ezekiel Elliott's playing time, but even that minimal threat has been significantly lessened with the news that Run DMC will need surgery for a broken elbow. Now it looks like the veteran won't be ready until the end of training camp. Let's hope Elliott is on Team Android.

This endorsement of Charles is tepid at best right now. The Chiefs star is coming off his second torn ACL in the last five seasons and isn't drawing the same first-round fantasy draft interest he's been associated with in the past. But the fact that he's starting to do football things is encouraging. The team is understandably going to bring him along slowly, but as long as he's healthy for the start of the year he'll be productive.

For probably the first time in professional sports history, a male athlete blames pregnancy for his offseason weight gain. Admittedly, it's pretty hard to turn down grabbing a donut for yourself when the wife says she needs a snack. Nonetheless, Williams will have an uphill battle to get ready for training camp which isn't a good thing on a roster that already plans to use LeSean McCoy as its lead back.

If there's been one consistent refrain from the Bears front office this offseason, it's been that the team is going to run a committee in the backfield. It was evident from the moment Chicago pursued C.J. Anderson in free agency. Now there are reports that while Langford is going to be the starter, Ka'Deem Carey and Jordan Howard could see time on the field this season. A two-man rotation is bad enough. Three in the mix? Do not want.

Aiken made a name for himself in fantasy circles last season as he took over for an injured Steve Smith. It's looking more and more like he could be Joe Flacco's primary target as we enter the preseason. Breshad Perriman's future is cloudy as he deals with a knee injury while Smith admits that he's not sure when he's going to return. Aiken won't be as much of a surprise, but he can still be very productive.

Sharp didn't get much hype during draft season, but he's making a name for himself during Titans mini-camp. The early reports are that the former UMass star is running with the first team and pushing Dorial Green-Beckham and Justin Hunter for targets. There's still very little indication of how this Titans offense is going to work in the fall, but if Sharp is getting on the field consistently then he'll be worth a look.

It looked like Strong's time was set to pass before it even began. The Arizona State product was unproductive on the field last season, then the Texans drafted Notre Dame burner Will Fuller and Ohio State athletic wunderkind Braxton Miller. Yet Strong is earning rave reviews from coaches and beat writers alike because of his big weight loss and improved play. Yes, it might be a trope ... but how else are we going to get through the summer?

First, it was Ben Roethlisberger saying the Steelers should go for two after every touchdown. Then it was Mike McCarthy suggesting that the Packers would okay doing the same thing. Kickers have to be feeling like a Charlie in the Box right about now. For that segment of the fantasy population itching to get kickers out of the game, you are inching closer to getting your wish.

Much like with Charles, consider this a cautious endorsement of Gordon. After having microfracture surgery on his knee in the offseason, there is plenty of reason for trepidation about the young running back. However, as mini-camp progressed, Gordon reportedly got stronger and looked better. After Danny Woodhead went down with an apparent leg injury in practice earlier this week, Gordon could still remain very much in the mix for the San Diego offense.

Wentz wasn't likely to be a fantasy factor this season with Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel ahead of him on the depth chart. But when the No. 2 overall pick tweets that he was trapped in a gas station bathroom, that's a bit of a red flag. It's caused some to question his readiness to elude NFL pass rushers. I have an alternate theory. Maybe Wentz just wanted to show that he was "locked in" for the upcoming season. No? Okay.
