You might've heard ... Tom Brady is facing a suspension for something that happened nearly 18 months ago. The NFL's version of "The Neverending Story" opened another chapter this week with news that Brady's latest court appeal was denied. That means we're one step closer to this whole thing being over and the Patriots being without their star quarterback for the first four games of the season. We're not rooting for or against Brady. We're only rooting for this to be over so we can get on with our fantasy lives.

One of the big questions in Buffalo has been the state of Sammy Watkins' surgically-repaired foot. The wideout tried to put some of those fears to rest by posting an Instagram video of himself sprinting. While it's not quite the same as the cuts and breaks he'll need to make during the football season, it is encouraging to see that Watkins is at least able to get on the field for some work. There's still a real possibility that the Bills take it very slowly with Watkins in training camp, but this is definitely a reason for optimism.

This group isn't going to inspire a lot of heroic fantasy football-themed ballads, but what was already a cloudy situation is now nearly opaque with news that Trevor Siemian could seriously challenge to be the team's starting quarterback. While we're scratching our heads at what could become of the Jets receivers if Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn't re-sign, we should probably devote some attention to the likes of Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders as they deal with a quarterback competition of their own.

Eifert was in this space earlier this summer after the news broke that he underwent ankle surgery. We weren't certain what his status would be for the start of the season back then, but there is a little more clarity now thanks to reports that the tight end is likely to miss at least the first couple games of the regular season. It's worth noting that there isn't a concrete timetable for Eifert's return, either. Eifert should still contend to be a top five tight end, but if you draft him be aware that you'll need another option for the early part of the season.

Anyone following the Seahawks running back situation this offseason probably needs Dramamine from all the ups and downs. Here's a little bit of good news: Thomas Rawls is proclaiming that he'll be ready to go for the first day of training camp. That is the sort of thing fantasy managers like to hear. Of course, it would be even more encouraging if Rawls had some sort of medical training. But at this point, we'll take any positive news as a win for Rawls.

The Falcons have a good problem on their hands in trying to decide between Coleman and last year's breakout star Devonta Freeman. As such, it looks like there could be more of a committee situation coming in 2016. Running backs coach Bobby Turner says the team would like to give Coleman the ball more this season. That's good news if you have Coleman in a dynasty league. For the rest of us, it's potentially one more RBBC to sift through. Oh, joy.

Snead was a nice fantasy pickup for a solid stretch of last season. He'll have to work hard if he wants to retain his status as one of Drew Brees' primary pass-catchers. Right now, Snead is being challenged by tight end Coby Fleener to be New Orleans' No. 2 pass option. The upside to the Saints offense is that the ball tends to get spread around, so Snead could still have big weeks. The downside is that the ball tends to get spread around, so he might not.

At the moment, it appears that Randle is edging ahead of Nelson Agholor in the race to be the Eagles No. 2 wideout. Yes, that is good news for Randle -- if you're into that sort of thing. In reality, a move to a new team isn't likely to change who Randle is as a fantasy receiver. Then again, this could all be a summer smokescreen and Agholor could end up winning the job in camp.

Two years ago, it looked like Adams was set to become the Packers next star receiver. Fast forward to the summer of 2016 and the Fresno State product is playing for a spot on the roster. The competition to be Green Bay's No. 3 receiver is awfully crowded with Jeff Janis and Ty Montgomery making their best case for the gig. Life comes at you fast sometimes.

There was plenty of optimism surrounding Coleman when the Browns spent the 15th overall pick to acquire the Baylor star in the draft. Certainly there was going to be every chance that the rookie could make a big impact in his first year. But have you seen the Browns receiving corps? Just go look. That's why stories are surfacing that Coleman could start the year as Cleveland's No. 1 receiver. Time to start moving him up your draft boards.
