Fantasy Stock Watch
Week 2 of the preseason is here which is giving us another chance to look at some prospects as well as get some report on how the key players are faring. It also gives us another chance to check the temperature of some of our most watched fantasy options.

We've been pretty big on Miller all offseason now that he's gone to a team that actually gives the ball to its running backs. Hooray! But we're now super excited when we hear scouts saying Miller could "have a season for the ages." That could be enough to push him up toward the end of the first round. We've spent the past couple of years waiting for the breakout. This could finally be it.

The good news is that Graham is off the PUP list. The bad news is that the Seahawks still aren't sure when he'll be ready to play. It's not a complete surprise considering the difficulties other athletes have had returning from a patellar tendon tear. But as we march closer to the start of the season, it's getting harder and harder to consider Graham to be a draftable option. It's a strange thing to say about a guy who was a first-round pick just a couple of years ago, but here we are.

With the Patriots being cautious with some of their key players -- notably Rob Gronkowski and Dion Lewis -- it has meant more snaps for Martellus Bennett in the preseason. The better news is that Bennett seem to be building a rapport with Week 1 starter Jimmy Garoppolo. The Pats offense was devastating not too long ago with two dynamic tight ends, which bodes very well for Bennett's fantasy future ... especially when Tom Brady returns to action.

Back in the spring, there was growing excitement about Prosise's potential role as the 'Hawks third down back and occasional slot receiver. That excitement has started to cool as Prosise has struggled to get on the field because of hip and hamstring injuries. At this point, the rookie could be out of Seattle's running back rotation as Christine Michael has started to surge. What once had the look of a late-round flier could instead be waiver wire fodder.

This time last season, there was talk that Spiller could be a sleeper in New Orleans' high-flying passing offense. Too bad he spent much of the season on a milk carton. This year, there's no such excitement. In fact, there is some talk that Spiller could find himself out of a job in the Big Easy. Right now, it's not looking too good for running backs named C.J. Has anyone checked on C.J. Anderson lately?

There was always upside for Mitchell in a wide receiver corps that lacked for clarity. But that upside is becoming more of a reality with reports that Mitchell could work his way into a starting job by Week 1. It's wise to temper expectations as Patriots receivers not named Julian Edelman haven't provided great dividends in recent seasons. But it does mean you can probably stop trying to make Chris Hogan happen. Not that I know anyone trying to do that. sideeye

I've made my feelings clear that I'm not a fan of any of Tennessee's wideouts, but at some point you start to think that SOMEONE has to catch the ball there. Looks like that someone is named Rishard Matthews. Dorial Green-Beckham is now in Philadelphia and Justin Hunter's days in Nashville could be numbered. Unless you really believe Tajae Sharpe can be an immediate impact player (I don't), Matthews might be the receiver worth taking a chance on.

The offseason has been a continual struggle for Doctson as he tries to get healthy. While the rookie receiver has tried to downplay the injury, we still haven't seem much from him on the field. It's always tough for rookies to catch up after missing significant time but his task is even tougher with the number of talented receivers currently taking up space on the Washington roster. For now, Doctson isn't draftable in redraft leagues.

It's worth preaching cautious optimism on Funchess, who didn't necessarily impress in his rookie season -- then again, he was always expected to be a project coming out of college. But people around the team say that Funchess looks like he's ready to take the next step this season. Then again, what else would you expect from people around the team? Which brings me back to cautious optimism. Time is a flat circle.

Last season was a lost one for Perriman who sat out all of 2015. Yet there was hope that he could return this season and carve out a role in a receiving corps that doesn't have a bona fide No. 1. Unfortunately, it's looking likely that he could land on the reserve/PUP list. Will we ever see Breshad Perriman on an NFL field? For that answer and more, you'll have to tune in to the next exciting episode of Raven Receiver Weekly!
