Ware already had decent fantasy value as the handcuff to Jamaal Charles in Kansas City. But reports surfacing that Charles is behind schedule in his recovery from injury have led to talk that Ware could start and see a huge workload in Week 1. It's a juicy matchup against the Chargers and their woeful run defense, too. When Charles is ready to return, he'll be the starter for sure but Ware is likely to see a larger share of touches than backup Chiefs running backs in years past.

Normally I believe in the disconnect between quarterback and wide receivers from a fantasy perspective but this is a bit of a different situation. With Teddy Bridgewater going down, it opens the door for Shaun Hill to be the team's starter. One problem: in the past five seasons, Hill has a grand total of 252 pass attempts with an average of seven air yards per attempt. Not great, Bob! Diggs will see the bulk of the targets in a lackluster passing game, but any sleeper potential he had for 2016 might be fizzling a little right now.

Did you see Henry running in the Titans' final preseason game? If not, just imagine a college player lining up against Pop Warner players. I don't care if it was the fourth preseason game or not. Henry looked like a man and appears poised to steal some carries from starter DeMarco Murray -- especially near the goal line. Henry is still coming off the board in the later rounds and has the potential to be a third running back on plenty of rosters. The upside here is rising off the charts.

Welcome to yet another lackluster running back committee. Matt Jones never had the look of a workhorse running back and an injury only opened the door for more rushers to step in and grab an opportunity. We weren't sure who it might be. Keith Marshall and Mack Brown both made a play for the gig, but it looks like Robert Kelley is the winner of this derby. By the time it's all said and done, Washington could rotate four different backs -- don't forget about Chris Thompson -- which could make this a huge headache. Good luck with this one.

Things have been trending downward for Ajayi all throughout the preseason. He didn't help himself with an uneven performance in the exhibition finale. You can expect Ajayi to see work in the Miami offense as the season rolls along, but he's now solidly behind Arian Foster in the rotation and will have a long way to go to come close to any of those sleeper predictions people had for him back in the spring. Amazing how quickly things can change.

When it comes to talking about Titans receivers much of the talk was about Dorial Green-Beckham or Tajae Sharpe. Nowadays, DGB is living in Philadelphia and Sharpe is projecting as Tennessee's WR2. Justin Hunter was released and Kendall Wright isn't healthy. So why aren't we talking about Rishard Matthews? shrug emoji The former Dolphin is likely to be the Titans' No. 1 receiver when Week 1 rolls around. He probably won't see the same number of targets as Delanie Walker, but the ball should come his direction plenty.

Time now for your weekly ASJ update. In Tampa's final preseason game, Seferian-Jenkins didn't offer much in the way of production. But he did get into an argument with offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter. So there's that. We don't have any definite idea what this means for ASJ's role in the offense, but it wouldn't be a total surprise if Cameron Brate earned the start for the season opener. At this point, neither one of these players is worth the headache this whole situation is causing.

Just when we thought Jeremy Langford had a lock on all of Chicago's running back touches. That was until Howard made his final pitch. The rookie looked very good in the final preseason contest. It's still going to be Langford's backfield but it's nice to know that we now have an idea of the backup option in that backfield. If you're looking for a late-round dart throw, it's worth taking a look at Howard. The only caveat is realizing that John Fox is not big on using rookie running backs.

By the time you read this, Williams might not be on an NFL roster. There was talk that the running back could be released after a less-than-stellar training camp and preseason. The Giants seem less committed to using the same four-headed running back attack that we saw from them last season. That's a good thing. It also means that there likely isn't room for a big plodding back who hasn't shown a lot of power in short yardage and goal line situations. There will certainly still be some confusion with Shane Vereen and Paul Perkins battling to get on the field behind Rashad Jennings, but taking one more back out of the mix should lessen the consternation.

Can we stop with this now? After Dion Lewis went down, Gaffney's name was scattered throughout my Twitter mentions. This wasn't really ever going to be a thing for fantasy managers. Now that D.J. Foster looks like he's ready to be the backup to James White, we can stop trying to make Tyler Gaffney happen. Cool? Cool.
