Do you believe now? I heard from plenty of C.J. Anderson skeptics during the preseason, but a 25-point performance in primetime against one of the NFL's most formidable defenses will be enough to change plenty of minds. The biggest takewaway from Thursday night was the lack of a secondary running back. We saw a little bit of Devontae Booker and Kapri Bibbs ... but this is going to be Anderson's backfield.

While Anderson staked his claim to carries aplenty, Cameron Artis-Payne has fallen farther from fantasy Valhalla. The man we once believed would be Jonathan Stewart's handcuff was inactive for the season opener while Fozzy Whittaker handled the RB2 duties. Hopes are high for Stewart this season, but considering his past injury history, it's worth keeping an eye on who's waiting in the wings. For now, that person is not Cameron Artis-Payne.

The drumbeat for Sproles has been getting louder as the season has gotten closer. If you haven't heard it before, then it's going to get unmistakable soon. The Eagles have designs on giving Sproles a red zone role similar to Danny Woodhead with the Chargers. It helps that Philly's offensive coordinator, Frank Reich, used to pull the strings in San Diego. Sproles already had value as a PPR option, but he could start to be a valuable piece in standard scoring as well.

No, I'm not suddenly off the Jordy Nelson bandwagon. I'm just a little concerned about all the talk of snap counts. It's understandable when you consider the lack of live action Nelson's seen since his return from a torn ACL. But it could still limit his production in the first week. Nonetheless, part of what has made Nelson such a coveted fantasy option has been his efficiency working with Aaron Rodgers. It's hard to suggest sitting Nelson, but it could be wise to temper expectations.

It's not all bad for Murray since the Titans have made clear that he will be their primary running back to begin the season. The bad news is that head coach Mike Mularkey says the team will employ the "hot hand" philosophy toward its running back rotation. That could work in Murray's favor, but it also seems like an opening for Derrick Henry to continue pushing for more carries. The rookie has been closing the gap all throughout the preseason and is threatening to take a larger share of the carries. It could happen sooner than later.

After a disappointing 2015, Thomas already seemed ticketed for a bounceback in 2016. Hearing Jaguars offensive coordinator Greg Olson say that they plan for the tight end to have a big role in the offense is music to the ears of fantasy owners. Don't be fooled into thinking Thomas was merely a Peyton Manning creation. He is an athletic, big-bodied player who should be a quality target for Blake Bortles in the middle of the field.

Entering his 14th season and approaching age 36, few are counting on Boldin for season-long fantasy production. But things are aligning for the veteran to have a good start to the season. The coaching staff would like to use Boldin in the middle of the field and he could eat against a bad Colts defense that is even more shorthanded.

Bad news for anyone hoping that the rookie would usurp Brandon LaFell -- looks like the veteran is keeping his spot as the Bengals No. 2 receiver. It doesn't mean that Boyd won't have a role, though. If what we saw from the veteran last year is any indication, there's a chance for Boyd to earn a few more snaps as the season goes along.

Time now for your weekly ASJ update! This week comes word that Seferian-Jenkins is listed as a co-starter along with Cameron Brate. This feels like a nod toward ASJ's talent while acknowledging that Brate has been more of an upstanding citizen in the preseason. Talent wins out in most cases, so it's not a stretch to envision that Seferian-Jenkins will take over this gig full time and we can put these updates to bed.

It looks like the Giants have realized the error of their four-headed running back ways. The team released Andre Williams and now is suggesting that Jennings could see more goal-line work as a result. With Paul Perkins still needing more time to become a viable fantasy option, this backfield might not be nearly as confusing as it once was. That's something we can all get behind.
