Normally it doesn't make sense to panic after a player has a bad Week 1. But in Gurley's case I'm willing to make an exception. I'm not sure there's a word in the English language that accurately conveys how terrible the Rams offense looked on Monday night against the 49ers. Gurley is still an extremely talented player, but if he's the team's only weapon, it's not going to end well. With Case Keenum expected to start this week against the Seahawks, it would be foolish to expect a rebound from Gurley in Week 2.

Speaking of panic ... the Factory of Sadness was working at maximum efficiency in Week 1 and its primary product was Gary Barnidge Donuts. Last season's surprise fantasy darling was held without a point in the season opener. But things have changed under center, with Robert Griffin III going on injured reserve and Josh McCown back at the controls. That bodes well for Barnidge getting consistent targets and improved fantasy production.

It was a rough Week 1 for many of the top rated tight ends and Walker was no exception. The veteran didn't see much action with just three catches on five targets. However there were times that he was able to get free and didn't get looks from Marcus Mariota. The Titans offense can't prosper with Andre Johnson and Harry Douglas getting a combined 12 targets per game. Mike Mularkey essentially admitted as much by saying the team needs to get Walker more involved in the offense. That bodes well against the Lions, who allowed three touchdown catches by Jack Doyle and Dwayne Allen in Week 1.

I'm not doubting #TheAwakening -- please do not @ me -- but the announcement that Thomas Rawls will start for the Seahawks this week against the Rams does signal that Michael is taking a backseat when it comes to touches. I don't automatically believe this is a permanent state of affairs as Michael could certainly regain the job if he performs well in practices and on the field. It's also not impossible to think he could still outplay Rawls with fewer touches. In the end, the committee that I feared from the beginning is starting to fully solidify.

We could be headed for another week without Charles in the lineup for the Chiefs. The dynamic running back continues in his recovery from a second torn ACL and has progresed to playing with the scout team in advance of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. Meanwhile Spencer Ware is dealing with a toe injury but likely to play this week. If Ware has another quality outing -- this time against one of he NFL's tougher defenses -- it will get very hard to dislodge him from the rotation.

How awkward must the breakup between Sean Payton and C.J. Spiller have been? Sort of like breaking up with a significant other because you decided to get back with your ex. But hey, if you're Travaris Cadet, everything's coming up Milhouse. While his return as the pass-catching back of choice wasn't great (3 rec, 14 yards), his touchdown gave him 7.4 points in most standard leagues -- more than double Spiller's weekly average in 2015.

If you believe in next man up, then Williams is going to have his number called quite a bit. Keep in mind that the outlook for the Chargers offense has changed significantly with the loss of Keenan Allen for the season, so Williams will need to be efficient for what could be a lower-volume passing game. Using his two-catch, 71-yard outburst last week, Williams looks like a wideout with big play ability.

The season started fairly well for Ertz with six catches for 58 yards (on seven targets). Then came the bad news that he suffered a rib displacement in his left shoulder and appears likely to sit out Monday night's game against he Bears. Hopefully this isn't a lingering issue and Ertz can get back on the field relatively soon. Potentially favorable matchups against the Lions and Redskins are on tap in Weeks 4 and 5, respectively.

It's already good news for Sanders and the Broncos that the beleaguered Colts defense is coming to town in Week 2. But the playmaking receiver could see a boost in targets if Demaryius Thomas isn't at 100 percent as he deals with a hip injury. The Lions had some success going after Antonio Cromartie last week. Look for the Broncos to consider the same path this week.

With all of the hand-wringing over Jared Goff, few have bothered to notice that Treadwell didn't play a single snap in Week 1. The writing had been on the wall for awhile with talk during the preseason that the rookie wasn't ready to play right away. But now that it's official, feel free to drop him in redraft leagues. For those in dynasty leagues, don't give up just yet.
