Hearing that C.J. Anderson is likely lost for the rest of the season was devastating news. Unfortunately, there's not much time to wallow in more running back sadness. Sunday approacheth ... as does a date with the defense-challenged San Diego Chargers. Devontae Booker was already earning a larger share of the backfield touches, but now he'll completely take over at running back for the Broncos and has a great matchup to start.

Last week, the Bills put McCoy on the field dealing with a hamstring injury and he couldn't generate much offense. During this past week of practice, McCoy has tried to go but doesn't appear to have shown much improvement. Shady says he's going to play but the Bills don't seem quite so certain after giving him the "doubtful" designation. There's little reason to believe McCoy can offer much more production in Week 8 than he did in Week 7.

Brown missed last week's game with pain in his hamstrings -- an issue that was discovered to be related to Brown being diagnosed with the sickle cell trait. But it appears that the Cardinals speedster is on his way to getting back on the field. Just being available will make him a popular target for Carson Palmer. Yet, Brown's weekly fantasy value will get a boost because ...

It looks like Floyd won't be available for Sunday's game as he deals with a hamstring setback. It's doubly disappointing because the second half of last week's game suggested that Arizona was trying to get Floyd more involved in the passing game. With Floyd on the shelf and Jaron Brown going on injured reserve, there are going to be some extra targets available in the passing game.

Riddick has been back at practice this week after missing the past two games with an ankle injury. The matchup against the Texans isn't the most inviting, but Riddick is certain to regain his spot as the top back in the Lions attack. His value is greater in PPR leagues since he'll probably cede a lot of the early-down work to Dwayne Washington (also recently returned from injury) but he did lead the Lions in red-zone targets through the first four weeks, which is cause for optimism.

Ebron was putting together a decent season before knee and ankle injuries forced him to miss the past three games. Rest assured that he'll find a way to get some targets this week considering he'd averaged about six per game before getting hurt. With the tight end position offering little depth or clarity this season, we're happy to see one more viable option available to us again.

Just when you thought it was safe to fully believe in your Packers wide receivers, Cobb is dealing with a hamstring and looking questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons. The matchup is very much in Cobb's favor -- especially as he's taken on a bigger role in Green Bay's up-and-down passing game. If he can't go, it could mean more love for Davante Adams and Ty Montgomery in the Packers aerial attack.

It's bad enough that Jones' fumbling problem has once again reared its ugly head to a severe enough degree that he was sent the bench mid-game. But now the second-year back is dealing with a knee injury that will keep him out of Sunday's game against the Bengals in London. Since Jones can't fulfill his duties, some combination of Chris Thompson and Rob Kelley will share the workload this week.

The positive news surrounding Reed is that he's making the trip to London. When that news was announced on Thursday, head coach Jay Gruden was quick to remind reporters that it didn't mean he'd been fully cleared to play Sunday. But it is a big step in the right direction. If Reed plays, he should project as a top-five tight end option in Week 8.

The Browns have gone through so many quarterbacks this season that they're starting to repeat names. At least with McCown coming back to start this week there doesn't project to be a huge drop off. If Terrelle Pryor's hamstring is close to 100 percent, McCown could put up a nice fantasy total against the Jets struggling secondary.
