Fantasy Stock Watch
Training camp is still a couple of weeks away ... so now is the perfect time to start taking stock of players' fantasy draft values. That's right, the Fantasy Stockwatch is back! Don't worry. I'll ease you into it. As we get closer to the start of the season and there's more news, it will get longer. In the meantime, enjoy this bite-sized edition.

Fantasy football Twitter has been breathless about Christian McCaffrey's prospects ever since he was drafted with the eighth overall pick. But the Panthers sucked a lot of air out of the discussion with recent talk that the veteran Stewart will retain his same role in the offense and will see the bulk of the carries. Stewart might have been underrated while Run CMC might be overrated. This could even things out a little bit.

Let's not get it twisted -- Smith-Schuster getting some red zone reps with the first team offense isn't going to turn him into a mid-round draft pick or an every week starter. But it's encouraging news for a player positioned within a potent offense. Keep a further eye on Juju's development through training camp to see if he's worth a late-round dart throw in drafts.

Pro tip: Admitting that your rookie competition is further along than you isn't going to inspire a lot of confidence. There was already concern about how Murray would fare behind a Vikings offensive line that was porous last season. Cook was already a more intriguing option because of his ability as a pass-catcher. Now if the rookie is already grasping more of the offense ... Murray's value is sinking like a stone in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.

Few things cause fantasy analysts (and managers) to throw up their hands in frustration like the Patriots backfield. But reports are emerging that Gillislee is expected to take over the role left vacant by LeGarrette Blount. Before you get too excited, I'm not sure anyone is projecting 18 rushing touchdowns. But at least there's some clarity about usage there. Unless, y'know ... Belitricks.

Just in case you were thinking about giving Kessler a shot this year (and unless you're in a 12-team, two-QB league, why would you?), now comes word that DeShone Kizer is showing major growth and closing the gap on Kessler in the offense. There are still so many unanswered questions about the Browns offense, but the winner of this competition will have interesting week-to-week value.
