Fantasy Stock Watch
Considering there's nothing really going on in the National Football League, there's a whole lot going on in the National Football League. Thankfully for you all, there's the Fantasy Stock Watch keeping you abreast of all this info. So you can spend your time hanging out at the beach, eating sno-cones and grousing about Hulu taking away some of your favorite anime series. Because that's a thing, right?

It's taken me awhile but I'm slowly succumbing to the steady "Carlos Hyde won't be a workhorse in Kyle Shanahan's offense" drumbeat. The latest reports from the Bay Area suggest that Hyde will eventually end up as the starter but that it won't be easy and he'll still likely split opportunities with rookie Joe Williams and journeyman Tim Hightower. This is why we can't have nice things.

This is the time of year when we get bombarded with #BSHOL (Best Shape of His Life) stories. Add Thomas to the list now that he's let the world know that his hip problems are all behind him. Granted that even with a nagging hip issue last year, Thomas still grabbed 90 receptions and topped 1,000 yards for the fifth straight season. Perhaps with two good hips, he could return to being a top 10 fantasy receiver. A quarterback upgrade wouldn't hurt, either.

Andrew Luck's job is to throw a football. But after having offseason shoulder surgery, he's not able to throw a football. Neither Luck nor the Colts coaching staff have suggested a timeline for when he'll start to throw a football. This seems like a big deal. Luck says he's not concerned. That makes one of us. I'm concerned, Andrew. I'm concerned.

Missives from the Sonoran Desert suggest that Nelson has improved his route-running skills in an effort to win the Cardinals' WR3 job this fall. Arizona's passing game sputtered at times last season but Nelson flashed on multiple occasions as Michael Floyd and John Brown both floundered with injuries and other off-field issues. While we hope that Brown rebounds this year and Larry Fitzgerald continues to stiff-arm Father Time ... what if that doesn't happen? Can we count on Nelson to take a step forward this year? The very, very preliminary reports are positive.

West is the guy pictured here but I'm not expressely picking on him. This is really about the Ravens backfield as a whole. Reporters close to the team are anticipating a three-headed running back attack. Did I mention that this is why we can't have nice things? Sure, it makes it harder for Baltimore's opponents to scheme for. But I'm not really here to make things better for the Ravens, am I?

It appears that in the race to waste away the remaining hours of their careers waiting for Frank Gore to get "old", Turbin has taken the lead over rookie Marlon Mack. Colts offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski has reportedly raved about Turbin's offseason work. I mean, we all know Frank Gore will never die. But at least we have some idea who his handcuff might be.
