Yes, I know ... Jones was already pegged to go in the first round in plenty of drafts -- likely within the first five picks on some. But now comes word that the Falcons would like to target him more in the red zone this season. Perhaps the only knock on Jones was his lack of touchdowns. And even that was a quibble. Hopefully, we can now kill that narrative altogether.

We've still yet to see Matt Forte on the field for the Jets this season. After so many years of playing in the league, it's not as though he truly needs plenty of preseason reps. But at his advanced (in NFL years) age and in an offense needing to find some semblance of ... non-suckitude, it would be a little more reassuring to see Forte get at least a little work. In the meantime, Bilal Powell is looking like the only draftable player on this roster.

Considering how highly coveted Cardinals receivers were this time a year ago, it's baffling to see so many reports of Bruce Arians being frustrated with his pass-catching corps. The good news for this Brown (John Brown is a whole different story) is that he's currently listed as the No. 2 receiver on the depth chart. Although it comes with the Arians caveat of "for now." Whatever. We'll take it.

I'm old enough to remember when Perine was going to march into Washington and make Rob Kelley irrelevant. Yet a funny thing happened along the way. Perine has struggled with ball security and pass protection duties. Oh, and the coaches don't really love the way he's attacked the line of scrimmage as a rusher. Other than that, it's all good. Perine might eventually take over the RB1 duties in D.C., but it'll take longer than we originally anticipated.

Richardson has worked his way into the WR2 spot on the Seattle depth chart, supplanting Jermaine Kearse. The 'Hawks have had big expectations for Richardson since drafting him in 2014. The problem has been his inability to say healthy (he's currently dealing with a AC joint sprain). If he can stay on the field and remain a starter, he has potential to be a nice late-round dart throw in most drafts.

Another day, another injury. Perriman continues to be frustrated by a variety of ailments to begin his career. This time it's a hamstring issue that could potentially keep him out of the entire preseason. The Ravens are still willing to wait on the speedy receiver to see if he can reach his potential. Fantasy managers don't have to do the same.

As Blount is underwhelming, Darren Sproles continues to thrive well into his lengthy NFL career. The pass-catching specialist says this year's offense is designed to help him get the ball in space more often, which is never a bad thing. Sproles' value will always be greater in PPR formats than in standard scoring leagues. But it's always refreshing to hear that Philly wants to put the ball in his hands.

It was a weird week for Matthews. First, he's traded from Philly after being pushed out of his job by Nelson Agholor. Then he suffers a fractured sternum that has him out of action for an indeterminate amount of time. The Buffalo passing game suddenly looks very messy with three slot-type receivers vying for targets. It's time to downgrade the entire unit, including (sniff) Tyrod Taylor.

I hesitated adding Golladay to this list because he is still far down the pecking order for targets in Detroit. But after his big performance in last week's preseason game and his work with the Lions' first team in practice all week, I'd be remiss if I ignored him completely. He's a name worth keeping an eye on, but don't go crazy reaching for him in drafts.

We all expected a return to normalcy for Blount following his eye-popping 2016 campaign in New England. What we didn't expect was for the Eagles coaches to give him such "meh" reviews through this portion of the preseason. Blount was already slated to have a limited role in the rushing game but if he's not even able to seize that confidently, his fantasy value will take a big hit.
