The tight end position has been redefined in the NFL in the past 10 years. What was once a block-first position is now a catch-first, block-second position. There were 19 tight ends invited to the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine. In the 2012 season, there were three tight ends who caught 85 or more passes. The Dallas Cowboys' Jason Witten set a new record for tight ends with 110 catches in 2012.
