With two punt returns and one kickoff return for touchdowns so far this season, Devin Hester is averaging a TD every 13.6 times he returns the ball in his young career. As if it wasn't difficult enough for opponents to game plan for the NFL's most dangerous return man, the Bears decided to give Devin Hester some snaps on offense. He debuted as a receiver on Oct. 14 vs. Minnesota and caught an 81-yard, game-tying touchdown in the final minutes of a game Chicago eventually lost.

He might be the Colts' MVP over the past two seasons, but safety Bob Sanders' worth can't necessarily be found in statistics. He has proven that when he's on the field, the Colts win, mainly because opposing offenses have to scheme entirely different when he's in the game, allowing others around him -- and ultimately the team -- to be so much more successful. In Week 2 against Tennessee, Sanders had 11 tackles and 2.5 sacks, helping the Indy edge the Titans, 22-20.

This season he has done it in all three of Denver's victories, beating the Bills, Raiders and Steelers on kicks in the final seconds of regulation or in overtime.

Has there been a more versatile and dynamic back in the NFL this season than the Eagles' Brian Westbrook? The most memorable moment this season for the league's scrimmage yards leader came in Week 3 when he ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns and caught five passes for 111 yards and another score against Detroit.

One of the biggest stories of the first half has been the resurgency of the Browns, and no one has been more responsible for the turnaround than QB Derek Anderson. He wasn't the opening-game starter for Cleveland, yet he has still thrown for over 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns. Who can forget his 2007 starting debut? After taking over for Charlie Frye in Week 2, Anderson went out and destroyed the Bengals, throwing for 328 yards and five touchdowns in the Browns' 51-45 victory.

Jon Kitna nearly guaranteed the Lions would win 10 games this season, saying before it got started that he would be highly disappointed if Detroit didn't hit double digits. Well, the Lions are more than halfway there and Kitna has done his share. He has thrown for exactly 2,000 yards and 10 touchdowns, and appears to be a perfect fit in Year 2 of Mike Martz's offense.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh has been a model of consistency this season for the Cincinnati Bengals, catching at least one TD pass in all eight games. Overshadowed in previous seasons by teammate Chad Johnson, Houshmandzadeh ranks second in the NFL with 10 touchdowns and needs a TD catch on Sunday to become only the second player in NFL history with a TD reception in the first nine games to start a season.

After signing his new $67 million contract extension with the Cowboys, Tony Romo jokingly said the money makes him a better person. Jury's still out whether it will make him a better quarterback, but it's going to be difficult topping what he accomplished in the first half of the season.
