Mind-blowing stats for college quarterbacks
Texas A&M has had a top 10 pick in the last three NFL drafts. Can Johnny Manziel continue the streak? Find out with these seven mind-blowing stats for college quarterbacks.

Some think that Johnny Manziel and Jake Matthews could both be taken in the top five, which would be the fifth time since 2000 that two players from the same school are selected in the top five. The last time multiple players from the same school were taken in the top five was 2010, when the Oklahoma Sooners had Sam Bradford (1st), Gerald McCoy (3rd) and Trent Williams (4th) taken.

In 1983, an NFL draft record six quarterbacks were taken in the first round, headlined by three Hall of Famers: John Elway, Jim Kelly and Dan Marino. The most QBs taken in a single draft, however, was 17 in 2004 - of which only five took snaps in 2013 (Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Schaub and Luke McCown).

There's a chance that Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater could be the first selection in the 2014 NFL Draft, despite not receiving 1st-team all-conference accolades, which went to Blake Bortles of Central Florida in the American Athletic Conference. However, this isn't as uncommon as one might think. In 2009, Matt Stafford was taken first overall despite finishing behind Tim Tebow in the SEC all-conference voting. In 2010, Sam Bradford was the first pick despite finishing on the Big 12 2nd team behind Colt McCoy. Bridgewater could become the third player in six years to be 2nd-team all-conference, but taken first overall.

If Derek Carr is taken in the first round, he will be the third Fresno State Bulldog QB taken in the first round since 1994, joining his brother, David (2002) and Trent Dilfer (1994). The only other school with three quarterbacks taken in the first round during that time is USC with Carson Palmer (2003), Matt Leinart (2006) and Mark Sanchez (2009).

Assuming Johnny Manziel, Jake Matthews or Mike Evans are selected in the top 10, it will be the fourth straight year Texas A&M has a top-10 pick (Von Miller No. 2 in 2011, Ryan Tannehill No. 8 in 2012 and Luke Joeckel No. 2 in 2013). A&M has never had a first-round pick in four straight years, much less a top-10 pick. This would be just the fifth streak of 4+ years with a top-10 pick in the common draft era (Alabama 2009-13, Miami (FL) 2002-05, Ohio State 1994-97 and USC 1993-97).

They say all it takes is one team to fall in love with you. If Blake Bortles can get the Texans to fall in love with him, it will be the first time since 1973-74 (John Matuszack, Ed Too Tall Jones) that players are taken first overall from non-power conferences in back-to-back years, with Eric Fisher having been taken No. 1 in 2013 out of the MAC and Bortles from the American Athletic Conference.

AJ McCarron will try to join an exclusive list when he is drafted. He will attempt to be just the third quarterback to win both a college National Championship and a Super Bowl. The only two QBs to do so are his fellow Alabama alum Joe Namath (1964 National Championship and Super Bowl III) and Joe Montana (1977 National Championship and Super Bowls XVI, XIX, XXIII and XXIV).
