Age is nothing but a number: Bill Belichick will become the sixth head coach to be more than 60 years old when he joins Pete Carroll at Super Bowl XLIX. This will be the first Super Bowl with two head coaches both 60 or older. Former Bills head coach Marv Levy is the oldest head coach to appear in a Super Bowl, with his fourth and final appearance coming at the age of 68 years old.

Russell Wilson had three 100-yard rushing games in the regular season this year, tied for most in a single season by a quarterback. The Patriots have not allowed a QB to rush for 100 yards in 268 games under Bill Belichick (including postseason). The QB with the most rushing yards vs the Patriots under Belichick: Tim Tebow, who had 93 yards in a 2011 game.

Super Bowl XLIX marks the third Super Bowl featuring a head coach facing his former team and his direct replacement as head coach. The other three prior to Pete Carroll are Jon Gruden, who faced the Bill Callahan's Raiders while coaching the Buccaneers, and Dan Reeves, who faced Mike Shanahan's Broncos while coaching the Falcons.

The Patriots lost four games this season. Three of those losses came against quarterbacks who finished the regular season in the top eight in rushing yards among QBs (Ryan Tannehill, Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers). Russell Wilson was No. 1 among QBs in rushing yards this season, leading with 849 on the year.

A different running back led the Patriots in rushing each month except for December/January: September (Stevan Ridley); October (Shane Vereen); November (Jonas Gray); December and January (LeGarrette Blount).

Seattle has played well against regular season MVP-winning quarterbacks. Since 2012, the Seahawks are 3-0 vs Aaron Rodgers, 2-0 vs Peyton Manning and 1-0 vs Tom Brady, limiting those QBs to seven touchdowns, eight interceptions and a passer rating of 77.0.

In their only head-to-head meeting (Week 6, 2012), Tom Brady completed 3 of 9 passes and threw an interception when Richard Sherman was the targeted defender. Brady had a passer rating of 15.3 on those nine passes.

The Patriots are just the fifth Super Bowl participant with only one offensive player on its roster selected in the first round of the NFL Draft (Nate Solder).

The Seattle defense allowed 11 touchdowns to tight ends in the regular season (T-third most in NFL). Rob Gronkowski had 12 touchdown receptions in the regular season (T-most among TEs in NFL).

After missing five games due to injury (Weeks 7-11), Bobby Wagner returned to the Seahawks' lineup in Week 12. Since then, the Seahawks are 8-0 and have allowed the fewest points in the NFL (9.8 PPG).
