Mind-blowing stats for the 2015 NFL Draft prospects
While Florida State might set a record for most players selected in the first two rounds, Alabama could continue its remarkable run of producing first-round talent. Find out more with these 10 mind-blowing stats for the 2015 NFL Draft prospects.

When Jameis Winston is selected in the first round, Florida State will be the first school to have three quarterbacks drafted in Round 1 in a five-year span. Christian Ponder was selected 12th overall by the Minnesota Vikings in 2011, and EJ Manuel went 16th overall to the Buffalo Bills in 2013.

Jameis Winston threw 18 interceptions last season at Florida State. Since 1996, only one QB threw more interceptions in his final college season and was selected in the first round. Matt Ryan threw 19 interceptions in 2007 at Boston College and was the third pick in 2008 by the Atlanta Falcons. In 16 starts as a rookie, Ryan threw 11 interceptions.

Former Heisman Trophy winners Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota are both in this draft. It will be the eighth time overall and third in the last six years that multiple Heisman winners are selected in the same draft. In 2011 the Panthers drafted Cam Newton while the Saints selected Mark Ingram. The prior year the Rams took Sam Bradford while the Broncos drafted Tim Tebow.

Marcus Mariota finished his career at Oregon with 105 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, good for a 7.5 TD/INT ratio. That is the highest such ratio in FBS since 1996. In fact only two other quarterbacks have a ratio of 6.0 or better during that span with a minimum of 600 pass attempts -- Omar Jacobs of Bowling Green from 2003-05 (71 TDs, 11 INTs, 6.45 TD/INT ratio) and Bryce Petty of Baylor from 2011-14 (62 TDs, 10 INTs, 6.2 TD/INT ratio). The NFL quarterback with the best TD/INT ratio is Aaron Rodgers with a 3.96 TD/INT.

Melvin Gordon averaged 7.8 yards per rush in his career at Wisconsin. That is the highest rushing average for any FBS player since 1996 (minimum 400 rushes). The only other players to average more than 7.0 yards per rush during that span are Reggie Bush (USC, 2003-05) and Tevin Coleman (Indiana, 2012-14). Jamaal Charles has the highest rushing average among any NFL RB in his career at 5.49 yards per rush.

Both WR Amari Cooper and S Landon Collins of Alabama are expected to come off the board in Round 1 this year. Over the last five years Alabama has had 15 players selected in the first round, more than double any other school. Florida is next on the list with seven. The once dominant Miami Hurricanes have not had a player drafted in the first round over that span. Their last first-round pick was Kenny Phillips in 2008 when the Giants took him 31st overall.

Shane Ray could be the first top-five pick from Missouri since 2001 when the Cincinnati Bengals took Justin Smith at No. 4. Since that time, five Missouri defenders have been taken in the first round and have all had productive NFL careers: Justin Smith (2001, CIN), Ziggy Hood (2009, PIT), Sean Weatherspoon (2010, ATL), Aldon Smith (2011, SF) and Sheldon Richardson (2013, NYJ).

Byron Jones is looking to become only the second player from Connecticut drafted in the first round. The only other player to be selected in Round 1 was RB Donald Brown who the Colts took 27th in 2009. Brown won a Super Bowl as a rookie with Indianapolis.

Florida State could have eight players selected in the first two rounds of this year's NFL Draft. That would set the record for most players drafted in the first two rounds, surpassing USC in 2008 and Tennessee in 2000, each with seven.

The New Orleans Saints have two picks in first round (No. 13 and No. 31). There has been speculation the Saints are in the market for Drew Brees' successor at QB. The Saints have not drafted a QB in the first round since 1971 when they selected Archie Manning second overall. Manning is the only QB the Saints have ever selected in the first round. In fact, the only second-round quarterback the Saints have ever taken was back in their first year as a franchise, selecting Bo Burris from Houston in 1967. Burris played defensive back in his career for the Saints.
