Mind-blowing stats for the New York Giants
In 2011, Eli Manning set the single-season record for touchdown passes in the fourth quarter en route to his second Super Bowl victory. What other records have Eli Manning and the Giants set throughout NFL history? Find out that and more with these mind-blowing stats.

Tiki Barber rushed for 3,522 yards in his final two NFL seasons. Barber rushed for 1,860 yards in 2005 and 1,662 yards in 2006 before promptly retiring. The Giants won the Super Bowl without him following the 2007 season, with Brandon Jacobs leading the team in rushing (1,009 yards). Barber is the Giants' all-time leading rusher with 10,449 career rushing yards. His totals from his final two seasons alone would put him 9th on the franchise's rushing list, just behind Hall of Famer Frank Gifford (3,609 yards). During the 2005 and 2006 seasons, only Larry Johnson rushed for more yards than Barber (3,539 to 3,522).

Only three players who rank among the top 15 in sacks all-time played their entire career for the same team. Two of the three played their entire career for the New York Giants. Hall of Famer Michael Strahan is 5th on the all-time sack list with 141.5 sacks, playing with the Giants from 1993-2007. Fellow Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor is tied for 11th on the all-time list with 132.5 sacks while playing with the Giants from 1981-1993. Taylor's sack total would be higher but sacks were not an official stat until his second season in the league. For Giants fans hoping a current player makes this list, Jason Pierre-Paul has 42.0 sacks in his first 5 NFL seasons.

While Homer Jones' career was cut short by injuries, he possessed big play-ability that has yet to be matched. Jones, who played for the Giants from 1964-69, owns the NFL record with an average of 22.3 yards per reception in his career. Starting with the first year of his career, Jones averaged 20 or more yards per catch for five straight seasons. Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Terrell Owens never had a season in which they averaged 20 yards per catch.

In Super Bowl XXI, Phil Simms had one of the greatest performances of any Super Bowl quarterback. In that game, Simms completed 22 of 25 passes, which set the Super Bowl record with an 88.0% completion percentage. With 268 yards, three touchdowns and no picks he also set the record for passer rating at 150.9. The Giants defeated the Broncos 39-20 and Simms was named MVP. In his 23 career postseason games, Joe Montana never put up stats that matched the Super Bowl Simms had in terms of completion percentage or passer rating.

The 2007 Giants are the only team in NFL history to win a Super Bowl while finishing the season with a losing record at home (3-5 at home, 7-1 on the road), winning an NFL-record 11 straight road/neutral games en route to the Lombardi Trophy. Only the fellow 2011 Giants and 1988 49ers (4-4 home records) came close to this feat, if you want to call it one.

The 2011 Giants are the only team in the Super Bowl era to win a Super Bowl after being outscored during the regular season. The Giants were outscored 394-400 in the regular season. The Patriots team they beat in the Super Bowl was ranked third in total points and outscored their opponents by 171 points.

Odell Beckham Jr. posted 91 receptions and 1,305 receiving yards en route to winning the offensive rookie of the year award in just 12 games last season. Victor Cruz was out of the lineup for the final 10 games last season with a knee injury. Cruz and Beckham are the only receivers in New York Giants history to post a season with at least 80 receptions, 1,000 receiving yards and 9 TDs.

In 2011, Eli Manning set the single-season record for touchdown passes in the fourth quarter en route to his second Super Bowl victory. His 15 touchdown passes in the fourth quarter broke his brother's record of 14 from 2002. In 2011, Eli threw as many touchdown passes in the fourth quarter as all of the Seahawks quarterbacks (Tarvaris Jackson 14, Charlie Whitehurst 1) threw all season, combined. That year, Manning also set the record with 16 completions of 25 or more yards in the fourth quarter.

The 1956 NFL Champion Giants were coached by Jim Lee Howell, who had two rising coaches on his staff. The offense was coached by Vince Lombardi, who went on to win three NFL Championships and two Super Bowls with the Green Bay Packers. The defense was coached by Tom Landry who went on to win two Super Bowls with Cowboys. Landry didn't just get his coaching start with the Giants; they also drafted him out of Texas in the 20th round of the 1947 draft. Landry ranks sixth in franchise history with 31 interceptions.
