But his lead on the rest of the field is staggering: the man in second place, Terrell Owens, could match his own career-best season output another four times and still come up short of Rice's all-time mark -- and Owens played in the NFL until he was 37 years old. Sorry TO, those Allen Wranglers numbers don't count.

Bill Walsh is one of only four NFL coaches to win three or more Super Bowls despite the fact that he only served as an NFL head coach for 10 seasons. However, Walsh's greatest legacy may be his coaching tree. Entering the 2015 season, over half of the NFL's 32 head coaches can be tied in some way to Walsh's tree -- a group that includes Andy Reid, Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh, Pete Carroll, Gary Kubiak, Marvin Lewis, Jack Del Rio, Jeff Fisher, Jay Gruden, Jim Caldwell, Mike McCarthy, Lovie Smith, Dan Quinn, Ron Rivera, Gus Bradley, Chuck Pagano, Mike McCoy and Mike Pettine.

Joe Montana earned the nickname "Joe Cool" with huge performances on the game's biggest stage, throwing 11 touchdowns and 0 interceptions in his four Super Bowl appearances (all wins). Montana was named the MVP in three of those four games , so what happened in the other? Montana "only" went 23-of-36 with 357 yards passing, two touchdowns, and 0 interceptions in Super Bowl XXIII against the Bengals. Jerry Rice took home the MVP with 11 receptions for 215 receiving yards and a TD, as the 49ers won 20-16.

Montana hasn't been the only 49ers quarterback to thrive in the Super Bowl. In the team's six Super Bowl appearances, their signal-callers have combined for 18 touchdowns and only one interception. They had never been intercepted on the game's ultimate stage until Colin Kaepernick was picked off by Ed Reed in Super Bowl XLVII. Steve Young led the league in passer rating six times, tied with Len Dawson for the most in the NFL since 1932. Colin Kaepernick set the single-game record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 181 yards vs. the Packers in the divisional round of the 2012 playoffs. Kaepernick had more rushing yards in the first half of that game (107) than Dan Marino had in his entire 17-season NFL career (87).

Recently-retired LB Patrick Willis is one of five linebackers in NFL history to make the Pro Bowl in each of his first seven NFL seasons. The other four all have a bust in Canton: Les Richter, Derrick Thomas, Dick Butkus, and Lawrence Taylor.
