Mind-blowing stats for the Seattle Seahawks
With a heartbreaking loss in Super Bowl XLIX, the Seattle Seahawks have something to prove. With one of the biggest offseason acquisitions in Jimmy Graham, and the high-profile resigning of Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner, have the Seahawks done enough to redeem themselves? Find out more with these mind-blowing stats.

Russell Wilson's two Super Bowl starts, 36 regular-season wins, and six playoff wins are the most by any quarterback in NFL history in his first three seasons. In fact, Joe Montana and Brett Favre combined for fewer victories than Wilson in their first there NFL seasons (Montana 15, Favre 17).

In 2005, Shaun Alexander took home the first and only MVP award for the Seattle Seahawks. Alexander had 28 total touchdowns that year, a single-season record at the time (since surpassed by LaDainian Tomlinson, who had 31 TDs in 2006). Alexander retired in 2008 with 100 rushing touchdowns, making him one of 8 players in NFL history to hit triple figures. Six of the other seven players to do so are in the Hall of Fame, with the lone exception being LaDainian Tomlinson (who will be eligible in 2017). Alexander has been eligible since 2014.

In a Week 10 matchup versus the Los Angeles Rams in 1979, the Seahawks had the most abysmal offensive performance in NFL history. In front of their home crowd at the Seattle Kingdome, the Seahawks totaled -7 yards of total offense, the fewest ever in NFL history. Quarterback Jim Zorn was sacked more times (6) than he had completions (2). He finished the game 2-of-17 for 25 yards, with 6 sacks for a loss of 55 yards. The Seahawks were shutout 24-0.

When Percy Harvin came to Seattle he wasn't allowed to wear the same number he wore in Minnesota because it was retired -- for the fans. The Seahawks fans received the tribute on December 15, 1984 when Seahawks President Mike McCormack retired the number 12 jersey, becoming the first organization to do so for its fans. The Seahawks are 22-2 at home in the Russell Wilson era (since 2012), tied with the Broncos for best in the NFL.

A seven-time Pro Bowler, wide receiver Steve Largent dominated despite his petite size of 5-11, 184 pounds. Largent was traded to Seattle in 1976 after only four preseason games in Houston for an eighth-round pick. He would go on to record 819 receptions, 13,089 yards and 100 receiving touchdowns in his career, all of which were all-time NFL records at the time of his retirement.

On November 4, 1984, the Seattle Seahawks destroyed the Chiefs 45-0 with 4 of their 6 touchdowns coming from the defense. Seattle's four interceptions returned for touchdowns and 325 yards off interception returns are both NFL records. The Seahawks actually had more interception return yards than the Chiefs had receiving yards (204) in the game.
