In 2016, Vic Beasley became the first Falcons player to lead the NFL in sacks with 15.5, and the fourth player in NFL history to lead the league in sacks and reach the Super Bowl in the same season. Out of the four, Beasley was the only one to lose in the Super Bowl.

Bobby Wagner led the league in total tackles (167) in 2016, edging out the next closest player by 18 more tackles. He became the first player in Seahawks history with more than a hundred tackles in five straight seasons.

With 6.5 sacks, Fletcher Cox led the Eagles in sacks and is also the only Eagles defensive player to reach the Pro Bowl in the past two seasons. His 28.5 career sacks are the fifth most among all Eagles interior defensive linemen in team history.

Talib's 33 career interceptions since entering the NFL in 2008 is the most by any active player during that span. After making the Pro Bowl for the fourth consecutive season, he became one of three cornerbacks who has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons.

Peters' 14 interceptions and 46 passes defended are the most in the NFL since 2015. In 2016, Peters did not allow a touchdown in games against the seven of the top ten receivers (by yards) that he faced.

With 4,327 passing yards in 2016, Matthew Stafford has six straight seasons with more than 4,000 passing yards. Stafford also led the Lions to eight fourth quarter comebacks in 2016, the most in a single season since 1950.
