For those holding out hope that the Bucs will be the turnaround team of 2014, history is working against them. The Buccaneers have lost their first two games at home. Only 2 teams in NFL history have made the playoffs after losing each of their first 2 games at home: 1) the 1987 Colts finished 9-6 and won AFC East after trading for Eric Dickerson on Halloween; and 2) the 2003 Eagles, who went 12-4 and won the NFC East.

After two weeks, Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate have 397 receiving yards combined, the highest total for any receiving duo in the NFL. Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb have 389 receiving yards combined, the second highest in the NFL.

The Vikings are into a stretch in their schedule during which they will face five teams with QBs who have thrown for 4,000-plus yards in one of the last two seasons. Since 2012, zero teams have given up more yards passing than the Vikings (9,483 gross yards).
Through two games this season, however, Drew Brees has struggled throwing the ball down the field. In 2013, Brees' passer rating of 123.9 on passes that traveled 15-plus yards in the air was second-best in the NFL (Nick Foles, 128.2) among QBs with at least 50 attempts. This season, Brees has only completed three of his 12 passes at that distance, for a passer rating of 30.2. The good news for Brees? The Vikings' defense has allowed completions on six of 12 such passes in 2014.

Tom Brady is in his 15th season with the Patriots. The only other NFL player to remain with the same team throughout that period is Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski, who was selected 182 picks before Brady (No. 199) in the 2000 NFL Draft.

How is Joe Flacco taking to his new receiver? Steve Smith Sr. has been targeted 25 times in his first two games with Ravens, making him the second most targeted player in the NFL this season (Jordy Nelson, 30).

Frank Gore has rushed for 100-plus yards in just three of 17 career games vs. the Cardinals. He faces a team that had the NFL's best run defense in 2013 (84.4 YPG), and currently allows an average of 2.61 yards per rush, second best in the NFL.

DeMarco Murray has two career games vs. St. Louis, which happen to be the two highest rushing totals of Murray's career. He rushed the ball 25 times for 253 yards in Week 7 of 2011 and 26 times for 175 yards in Week 3 of 2013. The Rams have allowed an average of 171 rushing yards per game thus far this season, including 100-plus yards on the ground to unlikely candidates Cordarrelle Patterson and Bobby Rainey.

The Redskins' offense has been more effective with Kirk Cousins at QB than Robert Griffin III this season. Griffin's 13 drives have produced six points, while Cousins' 12 drives have produced 41 points.

Lost in the Seahawks' dominant victory in Super Bowl XLVIII was the performance of Demaryius Thomas. In that game, Thomas set the Super Bowl record for receptions, with 13, tallying 118 receiving yards and one TD on a career-high 18 targets.
