Mind-boggling stats for 2019 Week 13
Lamar Jackson is building his MVP resume, Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins are the top passers in the league, and Tom Brady's low passer rating might point the Patriots to another Super Bowl. See what the numbers have to say with these mind-boggling stats for Week 13.

Lamar Jackson is the first player in NFL history with 3,000+ passing yards and 1,500+ rushing yards over his first two seasons, and he has more total offensive touchdowns (30) than 22 NFL teams in 2019. At this rate, the 22-year-old Jackson has a chance to become the youngest quarterback to win NFL MVP (Hall of Fame RB Jim Brown is the only player to win MVP in his age-21 season).

Mitch Trubisky has regressed across the board in 2019 after a promising 2018 season. His passer rating in multiple splits has dropped to rank in the bottom five this season, including under pressure (69.7 to 36.5), on passes traveling 10+ air yards (81.0 to 68.5) and versus the blitz (81.9 to 66.5).

Michael Thomas leads the NFL with 1,242 receiving yards this season, while Julio Jones ranks fourth with 950 receiving yards. The rest of the top five is also comprised of NFC South receivers: Chris Godwin and Mike Evans of the Buccaneers rank second and third, while D.J. Moore of the Panthers ranks fifth. Since the 1970 merger, there has never been a season in which all of the top four (much less all of the top five) league leaders in receiving yards (at the end of the season) all played in the same division.

Tom Brady's 88.5 passer rating is his lowest in a season since 2013, but the Patriots are 10-1 (.909 win pct) thanks to the NFL's top-ranked scoring defense. How unusual is it for a quarterback with a sub-90 passer rating to win 90+ pct of his starts in a season? The last quarterback to do it (min. 11 starts) was Hall of Famer Joe Montana in 1990, when he won his second consecutive MVP. The other four quarterbacks to do it in the Super Bowl era all took their teams to the Super Bowl that season, and two of them won it (Bob Griese in 1973 & Jim McMahon in 1985).

The Vikings and Seahawks' Monday night showdown in Seattle will feature the NFL leader in passer rating ... and also Russell Wilson. Kirk Cousins' 114.8 passer rating ranks first in the NFL, and Wilson's 112.1 is a close second. Monday will be just the sixth head-to-head matchup between the highest-rated passers (entering the week) in Week 10 or later in the Super Bowl era. In all five of the previous matchups, the quarterback with the higher passer rating in the game won.

Patrick Mahomes leads the NFL with nine touchdowns on deep passes (20+ air yards) this season, according to Next Gen Stats. Of the nine deep pass touchdowns, four came in the second quarter of Week 2 vs the Raiders, the most deep pass touchdowns by a player in a quarter since Next Gen Stats began player tracking in 2016. The Raiders have allowed the most touchdowns (9) and yards per attempt (18.1) on deep passes in 2019.
