The fastest ball carriers during Week 2 all topped 21 mph during individual plays: Pittsburg Steelers wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (22.01 mph), New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (21.74 mph), Washington Redskins running back Matt Jones (21.64) and Cleveland Browns wide receiver Travis Benjamin (21.42 mph).

Of the fastest quarterbacks during Week 2 only one topped 20 mph - Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (20.05 mph). Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor came in second with 19.72 mph, then came Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson with 19.64 mph. Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill solidified the fourth spot cooking in at 19.39 mph.

Two Oakland Raiders defensive backs traveled the furthest in Week 1 - cornerback T.J. Carrie, and safety Charles Woodson totaled 1,822 and 1,736 respectively. while Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson came in third totaling 1,647 yards from the line of scrimmage.

On Travis Kelce's 29-yard catch-and-run in
the fourth quarter, Alex Smith threw into tight coverage. The separation between Kelce and Broncos strong safety David Bruton was less than 1.5 yds as the ball was released.

La'el Collins gets hustle points for making a touchdown-saving shove out of bounds on Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins. He covered 37 yds from the moment Byron Maxwell forced Gavin Escobar to fumble to the end of the play, and hit a top speed of 17.28 mph on the chase down. It was the second-fastest speed recorded by an offensive lineman on Sunday.

Sammy Watkins' late fourth-quarter touchdown reception, Watkins was already moving 13.7 mph just six yards into his route. From there he accelerated to a top speed of 21.25 mph (9th-fastest by a ball carrier on the week), and consistently stayed 2.5-3.0 mph faster than cornerback Bradley Fletcher into the end zone to make the catch.

Antonio Brown literally ran circles around San Francisco defenders on his 59-yard catch in the second quarter. While streaking down the left sideline with the ball, and already having a step on defenders Kenneth Acker and Eric Reid, Brown attempts to cut across the field and evade Jaquiski Tartt. Thinking better of it, Brown doubles back at the 17-yard line. All three defenders fly by Brown, Tartt going from 1.2 yards away from Brown to nearly 5.5 yards away. Acker goes from 1.75 yards away to 8.7 yards while Reid goes from 2.7 to 9.0 yards away before they all close in on Brown. He gained an extra 15 yards on the play.

Despite losing several key defenders to injury in the first two weeks of the season, the Packers bottled up Marshawn Lynch. Lynch reached his max speed at or behind the line of scrimmage on 11 of his 15 carries. On the remaining four, Lynch reached his max speed within three yds of the line of scrimmage.

On his opening-drive 16-yard touchdown reception, A.J. Green never had more than 1.5 yds of separation from cornerback Brandon Flowers. Andy Dalton placed the ball where only Green could elevate and get it with Flowers riding him through the end zone.

Johnny Manziel covered 28.0 yards scrambling before throwing a 50-yard touchdown pass to Travis Benjamin in the fourth quarter. His top speed of 15.38 mph was faster than all but one Titans defender—cornerback Blidi Wreh- Wilson covering Benjamin on the play—and fourth-fastest on the field for that play. Benjamin covered 77.0 yards and hit a top speed of 19.41 mph.
