NFL's Best Cleats
Welcome to the first week of Cleat Review. Each week we will examine the cleats worn by players around the league. Cleats will be reviewed and rated based on style and uniqueness. Players are not allowed to wear certain styles of cleats for games but they're free to warm up in whatever they would like. So let's begin:
Antonio Brown: Nike Alpha Pro 3/4
Though they're basic and understated (something Antonio Brown is not known for) they are the clean and crisp cleats that avoid mundane and plain. No flames for this one, but thumbs up to the man who's haircut looked like a lego.
Darrell Revis: Nike Tiempo
These are truly terrible looking shoes. Fitting of a "what're those" if not for the fact that the joke itself is almost as outdated and uncool as the things on Darrell Revis' feet. If Spy vs Spy were to line up against each other on a football field these are what they might wear. Though they are soccer cleats there is no excuse for wearing such terrible boots (as they call them across the pond).
Randall Cobb: UA Nitro Mid MC
The Packers have classic uniforms but classic uniforms don't typically produce cool cleats that go with them. Under Armour put together a wonderful cleat with a fantastic modern touch in a colorful way.
Earl Thomas and Dez Bryant: Jordan VII
The mid-top Jordan VII cleat. These are incredible and just might be the best looking in-game cleat in the entire league. Dez and Earl Thomas were both wearing these cleats though you might not have noticed, because well, neither of them had very memorable first weeks.
Marshawn Lynch: Nike Vapor Untouchable
The man. The myth. The mode. Marshawn Lynch has gold bottomed cleats! This means that the first thing you see after he runs you over are these wonderful gold bottomed cleats. Stay gold, Marshawn. Stay gold.
Odell Beckham: Nike Vapor Carbon Elite 2014 TD
These cleats look cool because of the New York Giants colors. Odell has an insane sneaker collection (he wore three different pairs of Yeezy's at the Pro Bowl, each selling for $4,000+). Perhaps I am putting too high of a bar on Mr. Beckham, but the man loves fashion. And hopefully New York Fashion week helped inspire him to up his cleat game.
Cam Newton: UA C1N MC
Cam, I can't thank you enough. These cleats are spectacular. I know you can't wear them in the game because of league rules but please continue to wear cleats of this caliber. These were by far the best cleats of the week
