NFL's Best Cleats 2016 Season: Week 1
It was a glorious opening Sunday, not just because football was back, but it was clear that many of the league's best took the off season as an opportunity to up their cleat game. Odell Beckham and Mohamed Sanu set the high bar last season with the custom cleats they wore for warm ups. This week, some chose to pay their respects to the victims of 9/11 and some others chose to show off the hottest street sneaker-cleat crossover of all time.

Odell Beckham won last year. He wore unique cleats almost every single week. He wore cleats on Thanksgiving that featured Snoopy and Charlie Brown. For Christmas? This man wore Nike Vapor Carbons with Christmas lights in the side panel and presents on the laces. For Week 1 of the new season, Beckham elected to wear a pair of cleats that featured hand painted images of the 9/11 first responders working at the base of the building and hoisting the flag. For his pregame warmups Beckham wore Nike Vapor Carbons that featured red and white stripes with blue swooshes featuring small white stars.

Victor Cruz scored and looked like his old self. What was even more terrific was to see him doing this in a pair of candy apple red Nike Vapor Carbon cleats. The cleats featured NYFD and the NYFD fire symbol on them. Welcome back Victor, we hope to see you salsa some more this season.
Staying with the Giants Cowboys game...

Jordan brand elected to outfit their players with both high and low top Jordan IX's in their team colorways. Dez's cowboy colorway appeared to look the best, but you can see the full album here.

Von Miller lived it up this past off-season and why wouldn't he? He is a Super Bowl MVP, the highest paid defensive player in the league and a preseason favorite for Defensive Player of the Year. It was only fitting that Adidas chose Miller to debut their Yeezy 750 cleat for the first game of the season. Miller wore the grey Yeezy 750's for warmups before deciding to switch out of the cleats (bummer).

After a Sunday full of fantastic cleats, Antonio Brown still managed to get himself on this list with a wonderful pair of powder blue Nike cleats that featured white clouds painted on them. It was only fitting that Brown would burst out of the gates with two touchdowns against the Washington Redskins, leaving us (and Jay Gruden) asking what is this guy's limit?

Mohamed Sanu was one of the surprise performers from a cleats stand point last season and looks poised built on what he did last season. Sanu chose to honor those lost on 9/11 by wearing cleats with the twin towers beautifully painted on them. The shoes also featured desert camo on the toes and Sanu's number on the inner arch.
