Donte Stallworth was charged with a DUI and second degree manslaughter after killing a pedestrian with his motor vehicle in 2009. Stallworth received a sentence of 30 days in jail, 1,000 hours of community service, two years of house arrest, eight-years probation, and a life-time suspension of his Florida state driver's license. Stallworth was suspended for the entire 2009 season. He returned in 2010 to play for the Ravens but had minimal success.

Jamal Lewis spent four months in a Florida prison in 2005 after pleading guilty to using his cell phone to try engineer a drug deal in 2000. Lewis rushed for 906 yards after being released from an Atlanta-era halfway house in 2005, but he did have three solid seasons with the Ravens (2006) and Browns (2007-08), but has not played in the NFL since 2009.

Leonard Little received four years probation and 1,000 hours of community service after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter after driving drunk and killing a motorist after leaving his birthday party in 1998. Little was suspended for eight games after the incident but managed to be a vital member of St. Louis' Super Bowl XXXIV championship team. Little was arrested for drunk driving in 2004 but again received probation. Little did not play in 2010, after playing 12 years with St. Louis.

Michael Irvin was arrested in 1996 on charges of cocaine possession while celebrating his 30th birthday. Irvin's trial made national headlines -- thanks, in part, to him wearing a mink coat -- and he pleaded no contest to the charges and was sentenced to community service and four-years probation. He also paid a $10,000 fine. Irvin was suspended for five games in 1996, and the Cowboys failed to defend their Super Bowl championship. Irvin went on to play three more seasons for the Cowboys and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Irvin joined NFL Network in 2009.

Michael Vick served 19 months in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to dogfighting charges. Vick missed the 2007 and 2008 seasons, and was a free agent upon his release from prison. The Eagles signed Vick as a backup to quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb in 2009. Vick made the most of his second chance, taking over Philadelphia's quarterback job last season and posting career highs in passer rating (100.2), passing yards (3,018) and touchdown passes (21). He received NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors.

Ray Lewis was sentenced to one year of probation for obstructing justice in the stabbing deaths of two men following a Super Bowl party in Atlanta in 2000. Lewis also was fined $250,000. Lewis was put under the spotlight the following year when the Ravens reached the Super Bowl. Not that it hurt his performance on the field. Lewis was selected as MVP of Super Bowl XXXV and has put together a career that will land him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Tank Johnson was eventually released by the Bears after numerous run-ins with the police. Johnson served two months in Cook County Jail for a probation violation after the police found six unregistered firearms in his suburban Chicago home. Johnson went on to play two seasons for the Dallas Cowboys before joining his current team, the Cincinnati Bengals, in 2009.
