Predictions for top 10 college games of Week 14
Thanksgiving weekend's college football slate features a heaping helping of tasty matchups. The College Football Playoff race will be dramatically impacted by what transpires after you've digested your holiday feast.
CFB 24/7 experts Gil Brandt, Bucky Brooks, Daniel Jeremiah, Bryan Fischer, Chase Goodbread and Mike Huguenin have provided their predictions for each game.
Season records entering Week 14:
Brooks: 92-38
Goodbread: 88-42
Huguenin: 88-42
Fischer: 87-43
Jeremiah: 86-44
Brandt: 85-45

Details: Mizzou rallies to claim SEC East crown
The skinny: A few weeks ago, this looked like a gimme win for the Tigers. Now, it looks far less certain after the Razorbacks have shut out two ranked opponents in a row (LSU, Ole Miss). It's essentially an SEC playoff game for Missouri -- win, and Gary Pinkel's team goes to the SEC title game. Lose, and Georgia takes its place. Arkansas' massive offensive line, led by right tackle Brey Cook (above), will look to maul a smaller defensive front for Missouri. DE Markus Golden (above), the SEC Defensive Player of the Week, will match up with Cook for much of the day.
Game picks:
Brandt: Arkansas, 23-17
Brooks: Missouri, 27-26
Jeremiah: Missouri, 24-21
Fischer: Arkansas, 28-24
Goodbread: Arkansas, 27-20
Huguenin: Missouri, 23-21

Details: Saturday, 12 p.m. ET, ABC
The skinny: Ohio State already has won the Big Ten East title and has a shot at a playoff bid; Michigan is trying to become bowl-eligible. This could be the final game for beleaguered Michigan coach Brady Hoke. At least his defense, led by senior LB Jake Ryan (above), is solid and could keep this close for a while. But Michigan's offense is bad. Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett (above) is a potential Heisman finalist (he has accounted for 42 TDs), and is at the controls of an offense that averages 44.3 points and 511.4 yards per game. The Buckeyes have won 10 of the past 12 in the series.
Game picks:
Brandt: Ohio State, 34-17
Brooks: Ohio State, 41-27
Jeremiah: Ohio State, 34-22
Fischer: Ohio State, 42-17
Goodbread: Ohio State, 48-6
Huguenin: Ohio State, 38-14

Details: Saturday, 10:15 p.m. ET, ESPN2
The skinny: The Mountain West's top defense matches up with its top offense for a game that has plenty of major bowl implications as Utah State looks to upset Boise State. The Broncos are led by steady running back Jay Ajayi (above), who is a tough runner to bring down and runs well between the tackles. The Aggies have managed to turn in a terrific season despite injuries at quarterback, but it will be up to freshman signal-caller Kent Myers (above) to lead his team to a win and possibly the Mountain West championship game.
Game picks:
Brandt: Boise State, 34-24
Brooks: Boise State, 34-23
Jeremiah: Boise State, 34-31
Fischer: Boise State, 35-27
Goodbread: Boise State, 30-10
Huguenin: Boise State, 28-20

Details: Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
The skinny: For a time, this was the hottest rivalry in the nation: The teams played 11 times in the 1990s, and both ranked in the top 10 in all 11 games; this season, Florida is trying to play spoiler against an FSU team steaming toward the playoff. Gators DE Dante Fowler's (above) pass-rush ability will be big against FSU QB Jameis Winston (above). Fowler likely will spend part of the day against true freshman LT Roderick Johnson. Florida FS Jabari Gorman told reporters Tuesday that the Gators plan to be physical with FSU receivers, who haven't seen much press coverage. Florida's defense must play well because UF's offense has struggled all season.
Game picks:
Brandt: Florida State, 30-20
Brooks: Florida State, 27-20
Jeremiah: Florida State, 28-24
Fischer: Florida State, 31-21
Goodbread: Florida State, 27-10
Huguenin: Florida State, 27-17

Details: TCU throttles Texas in statement win
The skinny: TCU had time to think about its lackluster showing at Kansas during its bye last week and will be looking to impress the College Football Playoff selection committee with a big win on Thanksgiving night against rival Texas. Heisman candidate Trevone Boykin (above) leads a high-powered Horned Frogs offense that will try to move the ball against a stingy defense that will have star defensive end Cedric Reed (above) looking to add to his sack total.
Game picks:
Brandt: Texas, 23-20
Brooks: Texas, 18-17
Jeremiah: Texas, 24-22
Fischer: TCU, 28-21
Goodbread: TCU, 31-16
Huguenin: TCU, 33-21

Details: Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network
The skinny: This is for the Big Ten West Division title. The health of Minnesota's David Cobb is a concern. If he can't play or is less than 100 percent, QB Mitch Leidner (above) -- a physical runner but mediocre passer -- must produce. Gophers TE Maxx Williams is a big-timer, albeit underutilized. Wisconsin's offense is all about Melvin Gordon (above), who has had three consecutive 200-yard games and has a shot at the single-season FBS rushing record. Gordon's production has overshadowed the Badgers' defense; Wisconsin leads the Big Ten and is second nationally in total defense.
Game picks:
Brandt: Wisconsin, 35-13
Brooks: Wisconsin, 24-21
Jeremiah: Wisconsin, 36-28
Fischer: Wisconsin, 27-20
Goodbread: Wisconsin, 35-21
Huguenin: Wisconsin, 28-16

Details: Saturday, 12 p.m. ET, SEC Network
The skinny: Both are 9-2 and in the hunt for a playoff-affiliated bowl. Tech is fourth nationally in rush offense (327.9 yards per game), and Georgia's run defense has been spotty (think about the Florida game, when the Bulldogs surrendered 418 rushing yards and five TDs). Tech star LB Quayshawn Nealy (above) will be busy because Georgia runs the ball well, too, with true freshman TB Nick Chubb (above). Neither team wants to throw, but both QBs can be effective through the air as long as the ground games are clicking. The Bulldogs have won five in a row, 12 of 13 and 15 of 19 in the series.
Game picks:
Brandt: Georgia, 42-35
Brooks: Georgia, 28-24
Jeremiah: Georgia, 28-27
Fischer: Georgia, 31-28
Goodbread: Georgia Tech, 28-24
Huguenin: Georgia, 31-27

Details: Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, CBS
The skinny: The annual Egg Bowl has SEC championship implications for the first time in a long time. MSU can keep itself in contention to win the SEC West with a win, then root for Auburn to knock off Alabama later in the evening. Ole Miss, however, isn't going to oblige easily at home against the rival Bulldogs. MSU quarterback Dak Prescott (above) has had an interception bug of late, not a good trend to take into a game against the Rebels, who boast one of the nation's best secondaries. Safety Cody Prewitt (above) will not only have to patrol the middle of the field, but help contain Prescott's rushing yardage, as well.
Game picks:
Brandt: Mississippi State, 27-24
Brooks: Mississippi State, 31-20
Jeremiah: Ole Miss, 28-24
Fischer: Mississippi State, 33-21
Goodbread: Mississippi State, 20-17
Huguenin: Mississippi State, 24-20

Details: Arizona wins Pac-12 South title
The skinny: This year's Territorial Cup battle features a pair of ranked teams for the first time in 28 years, and the winner might be headed for the Fiesta Bowl. Star Sun Devils WR Jaelen Strong (above) is expected to be cleared to play after suffering a concussion a couple of weeks ago, and his return would give a big boost to the team's quick-strike attack. On the other side, freshman RB Nick Wilson (above) ran wild last week and is hoping to do so again against his in-state rivals.
Game picks:
Brandt: Arizona, 35-31
Brooks: Arizona, 24-23
Jeremiah: Arizona, 31-30
Fischer: Arizona, 37-31
Goodbread: Arizona State, 41-30
Huguenin: Arizona State, 44-38

Details: Saturday, 7:45 p.m. ET, ESPN
The skinny: The Iron Bowl once again has national-title stakes. Alabama can stay on a playoff course with a win, while a loss would knock 'Bama out of the playoff and perhaps the SEC title game as well. Alabama's first task is to shut down an Auburn rushing attack that leads the SEC (266 ypg), and dominated UA last year with 296 yards on the ground. On the perimeter, Alabama's best CB, Cyrus Jones (above), will give up a size advantage to Tigers WR Sammie Coates (above). On the other side of the ball, Alabama's offense faces a reeling Auburn defense and should find enough run-pass balance to score consistently. QB Blake Sims needs just 87 yards of total offense to break the school record of 3,041 yards, set by AJ McCarron last season.
Game picks:
Brandt: Alabama, 35-21
Brooks: Alabama, 28-27
Jeremiah: Alabama, 45-28
Fischer: Alabama, 34-26
Goodbread: Alabama, 38-24
Huguenin: Alabama, 31-24
