The Unexpected (and expected) from Week 3
Week 3 of the preseason is in the books, and many believe it is the final dress rehearsal for the regular season. With that in mind, here's a look at the weird, wild and wacky stuff from last week.

Remember when Vince Young rallied Texas past USC for a national title? Yeah, at least Young will have those memories to hang onto. His NFL career is in serious jeopardy after being released by the Buffalo Bills on Monday. The biggest indignity? Knowing that Tarvaris Jackson was a more desirable option. Feel free to make your own "dream team" joke right here.

Who could have seen Terrell Owens getting cut by the Seattle Seahawks? Oh, well, other than everybody who has followed football -- ever. Owens was unimpressive this preseason, and now it looks like his NFL career most definitely will come to a close. Seriously, even> Braylon Edwards made this team.

If you aren't excited about the arrival of Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, you don't have an NFL pulse. The two top picks in the 2012 NFL Draft each threw a touchdown pass and commanded the very well in their much-hyped matchup.

During a brief moment on Sunday night, Tim Tebow brought the crowd at MetLife Stadium to its feet with a dazzling run for a first down. The play perfectly illustrated the notion he just makes football plays. A few plays later, Tebow showed why he is still very raw as a quarterback with an unexplainable interception.

If you want to watch a quarterback who can make plays with his feet and actually throw a football, look no further than the Seattle Seahawks new starting QB, rookie Russell Wilson. Wilson outplayed high-priced free-agent acquisition Matt Flynn. And a quick nod to those Seahawks uniforms. If you were on the fence about the uniforms before, you can't be after seeing them in action against the Kansas Chiefs.

A brief fantasy take, as Eric Decker looks like the top choice in Denver after two touchdowns against the 49ers (I hear they're good) on Sunday. Many fantasy enthusiasts figured it would be Demaryius Thomas, but I was the lone voice in the wilderness who said it would be Decker. And his average draft position is climbing, you'll be lucky to get him in the fifth round now.

The Green Bay Packers appear committed to the run after the team signed veteran Cedric Benson. But it was Aaron Rodgers who ran for a pair of touchdowns against the Cincinnati Bengals. Rodgers rushed for three touchdowns in the entire 2011 season, so maybe Rodgers (who is more athletic than you think) will add rushing touchdowns to his already incredible passing numbers.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco threw 36 passes in just over a half of football this weekend, an incredible number for this run-based offense. Could it be the signal of a philosophical change in Baltimore? Nah, more likely the Ravens' coaching staff wants to give opponents something to think about before it hands out a steady does of Ray Rice.

Carson Palmer has struggled for the Oakland Raiders during the preseason. But Terrelle Pryor has been rather impressive. And sure, it was only in mop-up duty, but Pryor had 227 yards in total offense and accounted for three touchdowns vs. the Detroit Lions on Saturday. All of this while he completed just three passes. Surely the well-mannered Raiders fans won't call for Pryor if Palmer's struggles during the regular season.

Tony Romo could be without his top three receiving threats when the regular season opens. But Dwayne Harris looked like he could pick up the slack with three receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns against the St. Louis Football Club. And the best part? Harris does not require a full-time babysitter, uh, security professional or a set of rules like Dez Bryant.
