Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin had to wait a full two days in the green room before hearing his name called in Round 5. The Seattle Seahawks, the team his twin brother Shaquill Griffin was drafted to last year, picked Shaquem with the 141st pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier, who suffered a season-ending spinal injury in December, made a surprise appearance on stage to announce Pittsburgh Steelers' first-round pick, Virginia Tech safety Terrell Edmunds.

Texas offensive tackle Connor Williams was overcome with emotions in the green room. Williams, a Texas native, was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round.

Five quarterbacks were chosen in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Former Heisman winner Baker Mayfield was chosen first overall by the Cleveland Browns closely followed by Sam Darnold who went third to the New York Jets. Josh Allen was chosen by the Buffalo Bills and Josh Rosen to the Arizona Cardinals at seventh and tenth respectively, and another former Heisman winner, Lamar Jackson, finished up the first round after being drafted to the Ravens.

Former Philadelphia Eagles kicker David Aker riles up the Dallas crowd as he makes the 49th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. The Eagles chose Dallas Goedert, tight end from South Dakota State.

Australian rugby player Jordan Mailata, who measures 6' 8", 345 pounds was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh round. Mailata had trained at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., under Aden Durde, the coach responsible for Moritz Boehringer's meteoric draft rise in 2016.

Oakland Raiders Hall of Fame cornerback Willie Brown made the Raiders' second-round pick during the 2018 NFL Draft, telling the crowd "Chucky is back!" Brown then announced Sam Houston St. defensive tackle P.J. Hall as the 57th overall pick.
