He was a one-time Pro Bowl selection and a member of the Falcons' famed "Grits Blitz" defense of 1977 that allowed a modern-day record 129 points, which is better than the more-heralded 2000 Baltimore Ravens (165) and 1985 Chicago Bears (198).
