1949 NFL Draft, 13th round, Chicago Bears -- Taliaferro never played for the Bears. Instead, he played one season for the All-American Football Conference's Los Angeles Dons (1949), two seasons for the New York Yanks (1950-51), one season for the Dallas Texans (1952), two seasons for the Baltimore Colts (1953-54) and one season for the Philadelphia Eagles (1955). 1947 NFL Draft, 11th round, New York Giants -- Rather than play for the Giants, Hoernschemeyer opted for the All-American Football Conference. He played three seasons for the Chicago Rockets/Hornets (1946-47, 1949), two seasons for the AAFC's Brooklyn Dodgers (1947-48), and then six seasons for the Detroit Lions (1950-55). He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and a member of three Lions teams that played for the NFL championship (1952, 1953 and 1954), including two that won the title (1952-53).
