Marshall boasts an impressive list of NFL alumni. Here are the top 10 all-time NFL players who played for the Thundering Herd, as determined by NFL.com's Jim Reineking (follow on Twitter @jimreineking).

Undrafted -- Poole played three seasons for the Arizona Cardinals (2003-04) and one season for the New Orleans Saints (2005). A game-winning touchdown catch by Poole against the Minnesota Vikings in the 2003 season finale had a wide-ranging and profound impact on the NFL.

2003 NFL Draft, first round, Jacksonville Jaguars -- Leftwich played four seasons for the Jaguars (2003-06), one season for the Atlanta Falcons (2007), four seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers (2008, 2010-12) and one season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2009).

Undrafted -- Bartrum played one season for the Kansas City Chiefs (1993), one season for the Green Bay Packers (1995), four seasons for the New England Patriots (1996-99) and seven seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles (2000-06). Bartrum -- who was a tight end and long snapper during his lengthy NFL career -- appeared in Super Bowl XXXI while with the Patriots, and in Super Bowl XXXIX while as a member of the Eagles. Bartrum was a one-time Pro Bowl selection.

2007 NFL Draft, seventh round, New York Giants -- Bradshaw played six seasons for the Giants (2007-2012) and two seasons for the Indianapolis Colts (2013-14). Bradshaw was a part of the Giants teams that won Super Bowls XLII and XLVI. Bradshaw scored the go-ahead touchdown in the SBXLVI win.

1983 NFL Draft, seventh round, Minnesota Vikings -- Lee played 11 seasons for the Vikings (1983-1993) and one season for the New Orleans Saints (1994). He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

1993 NFL Draft, eighth round, New England Patriots -- Brown played 15 seasons for the Patriots (1993-2007). He was a member of five Patriots teams that reached the Super Bowl, including three that were victorious (Super Bowls XXXVI, XXXVIII and XXXIX). Brown was known for his immense versatility, having played on offense, defense and special teams during his career. Brown was a one-time Pro Bowl selection.

2000 NFL Draft, first round, New York Jets -- Pennington played eight seasons for the Jets (2000-07) and three seasons for the Miami Dolphins (2008-2010). He led the Jets to three playoff appearances (2002, 2004, 2006) and the Dolphins to one playoff appearance (2008).

1950 NFL Draft, 13th round, Philadelphia Eagles -- Willey played eight seasons for the Eagles (1950-57), and was a two-time Pro Bowl selection. Willey reached legendary status for reportedly recording 17 sacks of New York Giants quarterback Charlie Conerly in a game at the Polo Grounds in 1952 (sacks didn't become an official NFL statistic until 1982).

Undrafted -- Gatski attended Marshall in 1940-41, joined the U.S. Infantry in World War II, and then resumed his college career at Auburn in 1945 since Marshall had yet to resume its football program due to the war. Gatski played 11 seasons for the Cleveland Browns (1946-1956) and one season for the Detroit Lions (1957). Gatski played in 11 championship games in 12 years, with his teams winning eight times. He was a member of the Browns teams that won four All-American Football Conference championships (1946-49) and three NFL championships (1950, 1954 and 1955), as well as a part of the Lions' 1957 NFL title-winning team. Gatski was a 1985 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

1998 NFL Draft, first round, Minnesota Vikings -- Moss played eight seasons for the Vikings (1998-2004, 2010), two seasons for the Oakland Raiders (2005-06), four seasons for the New England Patriots (2007-2010), one season with the Tennessee Titans (2010) and one season for the San Francisco 49ers (2012). Moss led, or tied for the league lead, in touchdown receptions five times in his career. Moss was the No. 65-rated player in the "The Top 100: NFL's Greatest Players" of all-time countdown.
