Top 10 Super Bowl photos from John Biever
Photographer John Biever is one of a select few who have covered every Super Bowl, first joining his father, Packers team photographer Vernon Biever, on the field for Super Bowl I when he was 15. As he looks forward to Super Bowl LI, take a look at his top 10 images from the last 50.
![Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi celebrates following Super Bowl I.
Two of my heroes are in this one. My father is at center right, in the sport coat. I say this is my favorite Super Bowl picture because of the two people in it, and the significance of the momentous occasion. I have to give my father all the credit for getting me into all 50 of these.](https://res.cloudinary.com/nflleague/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/league/q6y0obxmwrptjdjj3zb1.jpg)

![Green Bay Packers fullback Jim Taylor goes over the line for a touchdown.
This one is important to me because it's the first Super Bowl. The action also shows the way the Packers are playing - jumping, blocking and playing hard. It's the best action shot I have from this game, though I was only 15 years old at the time.](https://res.cloudinary.com/nflleague/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/league/slwwit5f6fuk7ejpev7z.jpg)

![New York Jets quarterback Joe Namath celebrates at the end of Super Bowl III against the Baltimore Colts.
This was a big game because of Joe Namath, and I like the historical significance of it with 15 seconds left on the clock. I look at both historical and artistic angles - you have to go for both in Super Bowls.](https://res.cloudinary.com/nflleague/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/league/b60bizok5r28wsgcs3hg.jpg)

![Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Otis Taylor celebrates during Super Bowl IV against the Minnesota Vikings.
I favor a lot of the earlier games because there were a lot less photographers and not as many photos, so I think the images are more valuable. I like the emotion in this one - expressions on faces are always important.](https://res.cloudinary.com/nflleague/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/league/uq7jajfuehcjym78ssdz.jpg)

![Miami Dolphins head coach Don Shula is carried off the field following his win over the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl VII.
This is another one with historical significance since it was the Dolphins' perfect season. You have to go in prepared with the background on the storylines and plan to be in position. They also don't carry coaches off as much anymore. There were a lot less restrictions in the earlier games and better access, making this photo possible.](https://res.cloudinary.com/nflleague/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/league/opdaswoci8pt503trzoz.jpg)

![Dallas Cowboys defensive end Harvey Martin celebrates following Super Bowl XII against the Denver Broncos.
I like this one because the Superdome lights make it look like a championship background. Indoor stadiums usually limit our photography, just because of the sterile atmosphere and light. In this case you can use the background to your advantage.](https://res.cloudinary.com/nflleague/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/league/csfneld0ntx2k7itbuio.jpg)

![Los Angeles Rams running back Wendell Tyler eyes the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive line.
I like the colors of the Rams against the Steelers. This was in Pasadena, the light was great - it was daytime light which we don't have anymore. The light on his face and his eyes makes for a nice photo.](https://res.cloudinary.com/nflleague/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/league/o3pqm0kjijiwrsdm9gaf.jpg)

![Washington Redskins running back John Riggins runs for a touchdown during Super Bowl XVII against the Miami Dolphins.
This was a mixture of trying to get the action and the fans in the picture. It's unusual to get that close with the fans. There aren't huge walls behind the endzone - it's hard to get fans behind players these days. The happy fans with the Super Bowl MVP work out pretty well together.](https://res.cloudinary.com/nflleague/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/league/zm4dj9fixia4lfiyxgid.jpg)

![Green Bay Packers linebacker Diyral Briggs (53) holds up the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newpaper indicating the Packers are Super Bowl winners over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
Right after the game, Briggs was kind of on the fringe by himself - everyone was chasing Aaron Rodgers. I saw him hold his paper up and got this photo. The confetti makes the picture - it came down at the right time at the right spot.](https://res.cloudinary.com/nflleague/image/private/t_new_photo_album/t_lazy/f_auto/league/xtib0igyw2psgu8j2i6x.jpg)
