Newton is working his way back from a rib injury and offseason ankle surgery, and although he took all of his usual reps in practice on Friday, head coach Ron Rivera called Cam a "game-time decision." While yes, that means he could play, it's not exactly a ringing endorsement for Ace Boogie's health. Monitor Newton's situation closely leading up to game time, and make sure you have a capable backup (Carson Palmer could be great in a spot start).

Brady was on the injury report on Thursday with a calf, but returned to practice Friday. No one was ever really ever doubting that Brady would be ready for Sunday, but his immediate return to practice is encouraging. Feel confident starting him on Sunday.

It appears Gronk was right after all when he said he'd be playing on Sunday. His snaps will likely be limited, but some Gronk is better than no Gronk. If Gronk is on your roster he needs to be in your starting lineup for Week 1.

It's been a rough end of the week for Ellington owners. The talented Arizona back went in for an MRI Friday morning, and while he won't need surgery there are reports that he could either start on Monday night against the Chargers, or be out four to six weeks. Ellington owners will have to track this with baited breath, and keep an eye on Jonathan Dwyer as a waiver-wire acquisition to fill-in if need be.

News of Sam Bradford's torn ACL seemed to make Stacy an even hotter commodity in St. Louis as the offense will lean on the run. That was the case until Friday when the team suggested they'd ride the hot hand in the backfield. Stacy owners likely started throwing things, as Benny Cunningham now figures to steal some touches. It's unknown if this is just a smoke screen or an indication that the team liked what they saw out of Cunningham in the preseason. Stacy owners will have to monitor the touches closely come Sunday. He's an RB2 or flex play at best for Week 1.

Even though he hasn't played a snap in the preseason yet, Foster will be getting the "bulk" of the carries for the Texans according to head coach Bill O'Brien. This is no surprise, considering Foster is one of the most talented skill position players in Houston, and they have Ryan Fitzpatrick under center. Foster has injury concerns, but he could be coming into this matchup fresh and ready to rock. He's a low-end RB1 play this weekend.

Few running backs have ever worked harder for as few yards as Lacy did on Thursday night. The big back looked good though, until a concussion sidelined him for part of the second half. To make matters worse, his starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga suffered a sprained MCL. If Lacy can return to action in Week 2, he is still a rock-solid RB1. Talks of him leading the NFL in rushing yards might have been a bit premature, however.

A popular sleeper pick, Wheaton has had an up-and-down preseason, showing great route running and flashes of brilliance one game, and disappearing the next. There won't be a better time for him to reappear than Sunday afternoon when the Steelers take on the Cleveland Browns, as Lance Moore (groin) will be out and Martavis Bryant (shoulder) is doubtful. Wheaton could be a sneaky WR3 or Flex play if need be.

It appears Watkins is on the mend from his preseason rib injury, as he is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. Even so, the Bills offense has been a mess during the preseason, with an erratic EJ Manuel under center. It's not advisable to start Watkins this weekend unless you're thin at the position.

The Texans D/ST finished dead last in fantasy scoring last season, but that was largely due to their quarterback's penchant for throwing touchdowns to the wrong team. Jadeveon Clowney will be ready for Week 1 after missing the last two preseason games with a concussion. The combination of Clowney, J.J. Watt and a healthy Brian Cushing could spell a long afternoon for Robert Griffin III and company.
