Week 12: Sideline Commentary
Several quarterbacks who began the season as their team's starter were forced to watch from the sidelines in Week 12 as they were replaced for either performance issues or injuries. Let's take a look at the results, and the reactions of the QBs on the bench.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert watches as his backup Chad Henne leads the Jaguars to a 24-19 win over the Tennessee Titans. In his post-game press conference, Henne said he hoped the win will "build confidence" for the team. If not, Gabbert's fearsome 'stache could do the trick.

An injured Ben Roethlisberger watches in pain as third string quarterback Charlie Batch leads the Pittsburgh Steelers to eight turnovers in a loss to their division rival Cleveland Browns. However, Roethlisberger's pain was likely more due to Batch's performance than his sprained shoulder or injured ribs.

Kevin Kolb searches for answers in his cap as his back-up Ryan Lindley throws two pick sixes in a 31-17 loss to the St. Louis Rams. Lindley said after the game, "I think I punched myself pretty good today," in reference to the interceptions. Perhaps Kolb can share his techniques for recovering from such punches, as he has certainly endured a few in his tenure with the Arizona Cardinals.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith watches his back-up Colin Kaepernick lead the 49ers to a 31-21 victory over the surging New Orleans Saints. Smith said he doesn't "expect anything" as to whether or not he will reclaim his starting job next week. One thing he can likely expect is to be wearing a headset more often than his helmet as Kaepernick continues to roll.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel looks on as his replacement Brady Quinn struggles in a 17-9 loss to the Denver Broncos. Fortunately for both Cassel and Quinn, running back Peyton Hillis poses no threat to replace either of them, as his one pass attempt fell lazily to the turf in Sunday's contest.
