Week 2 winners and losers
If you made it through Sunday without one of your major stars leaving the game because of injury, consider yourself lucky. Here are the biggest winners and losers from Sunday, Week 2.

This will start to become a bit of "Groundhog Day", with Brady eventually learning to play the piano, building snowmen with the kids and keeping a pint of Gisele's favorite ice cream on the windowsill during the winter. Brady had 423 passing yards and three touchdowns, and it just feels strange when Brady does not go for 500.

Of all the fantasy quarterbacks who were likely starting (well, it was only 27 percent), nobody had a more disappointing day than Flacco who threw for only 197 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Think the Ravens had a bit of a letdown after beating the Steelers?

Yes, Adrian Peterson had a few fractions of a point more than Jackson, but everybody was playing AD. Anybody who had the guts to play Jackson (and that would be just 58.7 percent of you) were handsomely rewarded for that choice. Jackson, I have long contended, is one of the most underrated runners in fantasy football.

And yet all of you who were playing Johnson (which was everybody) were rather disappointed with the production against the Ravens (6.50 fantasy points in standard scoring). Maybe showing up for the preseason is rather important. But the best way to attack the Ravens is through the air, and while running backs will struggle against Baltimore, top receivers should put up favorable numbers.

Best finally showed what a dual threat he could be scoring a touchdown both rushing and receiving. He also finished third among running backs on NFL.com with 24.30 points. The Lions are becoming a very dangerous fantasy team with all of their offensive starters inching close to "must-start" status, regardless of matchup.

The Packers' coaching staff was polite to at least try to keep Grant in the mix after he missed most of last season with an injury. Grant had just 3.90 fantasy points this week, and even John Kuhn appears to be a better fantasy start this season.

I was really high on Austin heading into the 2011 season, and it was for games like this, putting up 143 yards and three touchdowns against the 49ers. Tony Romo or Jon Kitna, it does not seem to matter. Austin thrives no matter who is throwing him the football.

And now a hamstring injury might keep Austin out for a few weeks as he rehabs. Hopefully they will take a cue from the Texans and the Arian Foster situation. Rushing a player back into the lineup after suffering a hamstring injury never works out well. Fantasy enthusiasts will take a few weeks of him on the bench for a near full season of health.

Gonzalez continued his mastery of the Eagles' defense by again scoring two touchdowns in the Falcons' big win over the Eagles. And keep that in mind, anybody who has a tight end going up against the Eagles. Philadelphia has trouble stopping tight ends, and teams will be using more two-tight end sets or fullbacks to keep the Eagles out of their preferred nickel defense.

What is the deal with Philip Rivers? He virtually ignored Vincent Jackson in Week 1, and Gates was shutout in fantasy football on Sunday. Even Cardinals tight end Jeff King scored a touchdown on Sunday, and most people probably could not pick King out of a lineup. Come on, Chargers.

Well, at least something for the Colts is going right. Four field goals for Vinatieri and an extra point. That is what you have to like, the Colts are just good enough to get near the goal line, but not actually score a touchdown. Keep that in mind.

Novak was a hot pickup on the waiver wire this week, after Nate Kaeding was lost for the season. And then Sunday happened. Did anything go right for the Chargers?

Here is the hot pickup for the rest of the season: any team that is playing the Chiefs. The Lions were this week's beneficiary, but fantasy enthusiasts should keep an eye on the Roarsome Foursome going forward.

You know that guy who always reaches for a defense way too early in fantasy drafts? Most of the time, that guy is reaching for the Ravens. On Sunday, that guy was rewarded with two points on NFL.com.
