Week 7 fantasy stock watch
The NFL changes in an instant, which is why it's important to stay abreast of how your players are looking prior to Sundays. Below is a look at whose stock is rising, and whose is falling, as we approach Week 7. Keep an eye on these players heading into Sunday to help make the right choices for your fantasy lineup, as their stock could be on the move again before kickoff.

While Graham still sounds like a longshot to play on Sunday, his stock is rising as he appears to be ahead of schedule on his initial two- to three-week recovery time. Hopefully he gets to full strength sooner rather than later so he can get back to dominating for the Saints (and countless fantasy teams).

Those who spent a first-round pick on Megatron (myself included) are in for a rough couple of weeks watching the status of their star player. It sounds highly unlikely that Johnson will play on Sunday, but head coach Jim Caldwell offered up a "miracles can happen" quote to put our minds at ease. Thanks, Jim, real soothing.

The Panthers took the training wheels off of Newton on Sunday and he responded with the second-highest scoring fantasy performance by a quarterback this season. Newton rushed for over 100 yards, and next faces a Green Bay defense that hasn't been able to figure out the read-option since Colin Kaepernick torched them for a record 181 rushing yards in the 2012 playoffs. Superman might be taking flight again on Sunday.

Also good for Cam is that there's a chance his top receiver will be good to go, as Benjamin returned to practice Friday after missing partices earlier in the week goign through the league's concussion protocol. Keep an eye on the news through the weekend before starting or sitting the talented Florida State product, though.

One week after out-snapping Matt Asiata 48-15, it sounds like McKinnon will remain the lead dog in the Vikings backfield. This is good news for those who stashed McKinnon earlier in the season, banking that his talent would eventually allow him to surpass the uninspiring Asiata on the depth chart. McKinnon has RB2 upside with his combination of speed and elusiveness. He's one to keep an eye on.

With his snaps dwindling and trade talks swirling, you could argue that Spiller's stock has never been lower in his tenure with the Bills. Fantasy owners frustrated with Spiller's performance might want to hold onto him though, in case he does get moved to a team ready to exploit his talents prior to the trade deadline.

Reed returned from his hamstring pull in grand fashion last week, hauling in eight passes for 92 yards in his first game action since Week 1. There's no reason to doubt he'll continue to produce, and now that he's no longer listed on the injury report his arrow is firmly pointed in an upward direction.

Oh, Cordarrelle. What are we going to do with you? Amidst his mounting struggles, now his head coach has come out and said Patterson needs to get open if he wants the ball. Yikes. If you haven't dropped him yet, the time might be approaching where you cut ties with the talented wideout.

Oliver has had back-to-back outstanding games for the Bolts, and with Ryan Mathews still a few weeks away from returning, Oliver has a great chance to cement himself a nice role in this offense -- even after Mathews suits up again. If you spent a high waiver-wire priority on Oliver, it looks like your investment will continue to reward you with fantasy points for the rest of the season.

Sproles' stock is down mostly for the short term as he recovers from an MCL sprain suffered in Week 6. He also might start losing a few touches to a more effective LeSean McCoy, but Sproles still figures to have a role in head coach Chip Kelly's offensive assault.

Ingram missed three weeks with a broken hand, but thanks to the team's bye in Week 6 appears ready to go. He's practiced all week without incident and will be worked back into the rotation on Sunday against the Lions. It's unclear how much work Ingram will get in his first game back, but he should see some touches.

One week after silencing his doubters with a 132 total yard, two-touchdown performance Lacy returned to frustration-ville with a 40-yard outing. It's concerning to his owners that the Packers keep forcing a split in carries beetween Lacy and James Starks. I still have hope for the big bruiser out of Alabama, but right now his stock is slipping a bit.

Sanu was forced into the No. 1 wide receiver role for the Bengals last week with A.J. Green sidelined and Marvin Jones headed to IR. Sanu responded with an 11-catch, 120-yard, one-touchdown performance. Sanu's stock is on the rise, and even once Green returns he'll have value in all fantasy formats.

After missing much of the beginning of the season with injuries, Jones-Drew only saw rotational snaps to give Darren McFadden breathers. If any fantasy owners had been holding onto Jones-Drew (although I can't fathom why) it's time to drop him and get someone with more upside.

After returning from a dislocated elbow, Knowshon Moreno's season was made worse when he suffered a torn ACL on Sunday against the Packers. This increases Miller's stock greatly, as everyone's favorite sleeper from 2013 appears to finally be making good on his talent and situation. He's a solid RB2 with upside from here on out.

Don't be upset Asiata owners. You had those couple great weeks together earlier in the season. Consider him your back-to-football fling. Although now it's time to move on and find someone more serious, like his younger, faster backfield mate who I discussed above.

It was only one game, but boy was that a sight for sore McCoy owners' eyes. McCoy was able to get in space and make defenders miss, racking up 149 rushing yards on 22 carries. With Sproles out for a short period, McCoy will have every chance to make up for lost time and start shredding defenses like he did a season ago.

We weren't sure how the Broncos backfield would look sans Montee Ball. We now know that it looks like Anderson will be a bit player, if that. The California product saw only one offensive snap on Sunday, playing third fiddle to Ronnie Hillman and Juwan Thompson. If you picked up Anderson as a flier, don't be ashamed to cut ties with him already and get someone with more upside.

I'm going to keep writing about Adams until my fingers fall off, or more of you start picking him up. The rookie now has the trust of Aaron Rodgers, and is coming off of a six-catch, 77-yard performance. With so much attention devoted to Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, Adams is going to find success this season.

Even though Stacy has an ankle injury, the real concern fantasy-wise is his increasing timeshare with Benny Cunningham and Tre Mason. Stacy had eight carries on Monday night, while Cunningham saw seven and Mason five. Despite their lesser workloads, both Cunningham and Mason outrushed Stacy. Stacy's stock is sinking pretty quickly. Be sure to get other options ready if he falls any further down the fantasy food chain.
