It hasn't been the start to the season that we all expected for the Packers lead running back. Maybe his ankle injury is worse than the team is letting on. But whatever the reason, no one predicted that the Alabama product would post five straight single-digit performances after a nice start to the season. Let's hope the bye week is the cure for whatever ails Lacy.

Do you believe in Fitzmagic? You should ... at least for this week. Gang Green's bearded wonder is in the midst of his best season since 2011 -- coincidentally the last time Fitzpatrick was paired with Chan Gailey. This week, he has a plus matchup against a Patriots secondary that has given up a couple of big days to quarterbacks. Even if it doesn't happen until garbage time, Fitzpatrick should be able to get some against New England.

Two steps forward, two steps back. It's not just the mantra of MC Kool Kat, it's also life with Sam Bradford on your fantasy roster. The Eagles quarterback laid an egg last week in the win over the Giants and you have to wonder how firm his grasp is on the starting job. Bradford is a matchup-based starter at best but even then it's not certain that you can completely trust him.

Bradford isn't the only thing questionable about the Eagles passing game. Jordan Matthews' name was on the fingertips of many a fantasy football writer this offseason (yours truly included) and he has been as big a disappointment as there has been. After double-digit totals in the first two weeks, Matthews hasn't had more than five points in any game. Drops and fumbles have plagued the second-year wideout and he's finding himself benched in plenty of leagues.

New attitude! Toughness! Dan Campbell's biceps! It's all a part of the narrative surrounding the Miami Dolphins offense. Whatever it is, it's made Lamar Miller a viable fantasy starter again and we're all thankful for that. This week's matchup against a porous Houston Texans defense gives the young rusher even more viability. Maybe the Dolphins offense will reclaim some of that preseason hype by the time it's all over.

Houston, not everything is a problem. Brian Hoyer temporarily lost the starting job earlier this season, but since he's returned to the field things have gone well. Hoyer has tossed seven touchdowns and just one interception in the past three games and recorded a season-high 24.22 fantasy points in last week's win over the Jaguars. The Dolphins should offer a tougher test, but when you have DeAndre Hopkins to throw to there's always a reason to believe.

Randle has held on to the Cowboys starting RB job by default. Darren McFadden hasn't performed well and Lance Dunbar suffered a season-ending injury. Next up to try and take the job is Christine Michael. The reports out of Dallas say that Michael is starting to earn more first-team reps and could end up starting. The arrow is pointing down on Randle, but will he survive another challenge to his throne? We shall see.

After a lackluster return in Week 5, Thomas truly got into gear in Week 6. We all worried that the tight end would fall off a fantasy cliff without Peyton Manning throwing to him, but nowadays that looks more like a blessing than a curse. There will still be some inconsistency in the Jaguars offense, but it appears that Thomas has found a much more productive situation and could be a top 10 tight end for the remainder of the season.

Mariota's first two games this season had plenty of people believing that the Titans truly had found their franchise quarterback. Since then, the rookie has played like ... well, a rookie. That doesn't mean he's a bust or that the first two weeks were a mirage, but it's a reminder that all young players go through growing pains, especially at the quarterback position. Until Mariota starts to show a little more consistency, it's best not to rely on him too heavily.

We've continually tried to forecast the next breakout Vikings wide receiver. Charles Johnson? Nope. Cordarrelle Patterson? Swing and a miss. Stefon Diggs? Come on down. He's earned a bigger role in the Minnesota passing game over the last few weeks at a time when Mike Wallace has begun to fade. He might eventually burn us, but we'll keep pushing this until it works.
