Week 9: Curse, Coincidence or Superstition
Many sports fans are inclined to believe losses can be traced back to a curse or superstition. So who said or did something to ruin their team's chance at a win in Week 9? Let's take a look.

The Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator predicted a "Sunday Night Football" victory over the undefeated Atlanta Falcons. Rob Ryan's brazen statement sealed another Cowboys' defeat as America's Team fell to the Falcons, 19-13. (Matthew Emmons/US Presswire)

With the Panthers' 21-13 win over the Washington Redskins, the White House might welcome in a new party. The outcome of the last Redskins' home game before the election has predicted 17 of the last 18 presidential elections. (Nick Wass/Associated Press)

With a 24-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, November is once again off to a rocky start for the New York Giants. Since 2009, the Giants are 4-9 in November, including 1-4 last season. (Julio Cortez/Associated Press)

Doug Martin's homecoming against the Oakland Raiders was epic. The rookie ran for a franchise-record 251 yards and four touchdowns to earn the No. 3 spot on the all-time single game rookie rushing leaders list. (Marcio Jose Sanchez/Associated Press)

Colts fans are doing OK with Andrew Luck. He has the exact same record (5-3) and passing yards (2,404) as his predecessor, Peyton Manning. (Darron Cummings/Associated Press)

In the air and on the ground, Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure and Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall captured three touchdowns apiece on Sunday and another win for their teams. (US Presswire)

Bills wide receiver David Nelson had plenty to say about the Houston Texans prior to the game. Nelson tweeted that Texans running back Arian Foster would be held to under 50 yards and Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick would have five touchdowns. The results were just the opposite: Foster ran for 111 yards and one touchdown and Fitzpatrick had zero scores. The Bills lost to the Texans, 21-9. (US Presswire)
